Wonderful news! You'll find radiation to be no problem. I had it in 2004, my 38-yr old daughter had it last year, and neither of us had a problem at all. It's a matter of driving to the location, undressing and putting your clothes in a locker, lying on a bed for 5 min. & off you go. We're both pale-skinned and any burning was like a mild sunburn. They give you tons of creams for that if you need it.

I?m glad that you do not have to go through chemo. Some of the chemo drugs are not good for your heart. The first two years after breast cancer is when the cancer is mostly likely to reoccur. After one year, my cancer doctor still wants to see me every three months. After my next appointment with my radiation doctor I will be put on every six month visits. My surgeon wants to see me again in six months and then after a year.

One year cancer free!!

Yes, I know I am in for many doctor visits for five years. I already have an appt. with the surgeon for a mammogram and exam next Nov. The oncologist wants to see me 6 weeks after I start the hormone therapy, and then every 3 months and I have yet to see the radiation oncologist, but I am sure he will have a schedule as well. Not to forget my pcp and my gyno. For someone who hates going to the doctor, this is going to be a trial. Congratulations on your one year and I expect to see you back here announcing your 10th anniversary1

Oh, Phyllis!!!!

Oh, Phyllis!!!!

I am absolutely thrilled for you. This bit of news just made my night...........actually icing on the cake after Jody's update. I can't think of a nicer, sweeter, more compassionate person who deserves such news. :)

All our love and we won't let up on those prayers. Hugs. Janet

Sorry so late with my post, Phyllis; fantastic news that you don't have to have chemo. My husband had to have massive doses of it 13 years ago for a bone marrow transplant, and it did a real number on his teeth (according to his dentist), among other things. I'm very happy to hear you got a reprieve from it.
