Has anyone else checked out the AHA National wear red day for women???

It's February 6, and you just have to wear something red, they have small red dress pins you can get and distribute to all your women friends, associates, etc., 50 for $14.00 plus shipping. @americanheart.org

I stocked up on them for my Zipper Club, Deborah Heart & Lung Center fund Raisers, Young at Heart Club and fellow workmates at the three medical offices I work at, it's a lot healthier than the sweet treats some people bring in around Valentines days.

Terry, sounds like a good idea...I have it in my planner! Red we will be!

Thanks for the heads up Terry. I ordered some pins too. Thought I'd pass them out to 50 of my closest friends and family.:D

GO Red

GO Red

I got my pin at the hosp. when I was volunteer in cardic rehab. so I already have one to wear. Here is something some of might have know but the AHA for women made the first pin and they didn't like it so they redesigned it to look more like a dress. So I have two pins.

Gee whiz - that's a good deal. I was looking at the Swarovski stuff - they have a fund raiser for the Amer. Heart Assoc. in Feb. - they have the "little red dress" pin ($75) and a heart ornament ($50) and a couple other things. I'm still debating the little red dress, but having a real hard time justifying it. You can find the stuff at www.crystalfox.com if you're interested.

You know, I've got tons of pink ribbons for breast cancer, too; I'm really tired of becoming eligible for all these things.

This is a Heart Month I think I'd be just as happy to forget about altogether.

I'll be marking Feb. 6 by going to my pre-surgery consult with my cardiac surgeon. Maybe his office will give me a pin.

I do hope I can "celebrate" the other Heart Day in February -- Valentine's, Feb. 14 -- by waking up out of ICU, on the regular ward.

What Tom said. . . .

Marge:

I repeat what Tom said - You'll have a wonderful Vallentines 2005 day.

Good luck on your surgery.

Thanks, Tom & Peggy, but ya know, thinking about it a bit more, Valentines Day THIS year will be pretty great, actually.

Just getting through this thing, & on my way DOWN this ole mountain, will make it very special.

If you only want one for yourself...

You can call 1-888-MY-HEART and they'll send you one.... of course that is in exchange for your phone number and mailing address.

Thanks Terry for posting this, I also ordered the 50 pins and plan to pass them on to friends, family and co-workers. I sent all my friends an e-mail regarding the site. I think it's a great idea and look foward to wearing my pin proudly.
