Hello everyone,
I leave my home for the journey to Cleveland Clinic today. I am feeling calm and ready to face the music.

On Wednesday, I got a haircut, short since I knew it might be a while before I would get another one. After the haircut, when we were figuring out my next possible appointment, we looked at about 7 weeks away, when I usually get my next haircut, and it was Jan. 12th., right at the 6 week after surgery mark. From all I have heard, I should feel pretty well by then and even be able to drive!

So, feeling well is just another haircut away for me! And thanks to everyone here for all the great info and optimism.

all the best, Betsy

Have a safe journey to Cleveland Clinic. Best wishes for a successful surgery and smooth recovery. I look forward to your update from the other side of the mountain.

Wishing you the very best Betsy. I look forward to reading the good news of your successful surgery. (Great call on the short hair cut!)

Best Wishes Betsy for a successful surgery and a a smooth uneventful recovery.
I look forward to hearing from you on 'the other side'.

Good Luck

Good Luck

We're with you in spirit, prayer, and we're holding your hand.

I seem to remember getting a haircut, a manicure and pedicure, a new kitchen floor, a new recliner and refrigerator in the last few weeks leading up to my replacement day. I was anticipating the future, and what would make me comfortable during the recovery period.
It worked beautifully!
I'm glad you and I think alike, Betsy!

Hey there Betsy!

What a great way to look at it, a haircut away! You go girl! :)

I got a nice haircut and color (yeah, greys, what can I say  ). What was amazing to me was that my hair simply didn't GROW after surgery for like 2 months. Don't know if this is common or not but my hair grows fast and by 2 months I'm usually seeing grey again at the hairline (made all the worse by my teen sons :p ) and there simply weren't any.

Not to imply by any means that your recovery be delayed, just that you might not need that haircut so soon?!?

I wish you all the best for a most successful surgery and an uncomplicated and speedy recovery. Looking forward to hearing from you on the other side of the mountain.

Peace,
Ruth

You are surely on your way, and probably already there by now, Betsy!

I suspect you will be able to use the CC internet in the days prior to your surgery, and I hope you will let us know how your pre-op experiences go.

When you are not able to write personally, I will be reading the posts from your family on the CC site (as you have requested that I do) and relaying information to our VR.com members.

Best wishes!!! Godspeed!!

Marguerite

well, I have missed you by one day - I was on the road yesterday. Wishing you the very best walk up the mountain. Two things: watch out for the truck; don't sneeze for a month or so. We are leaving the light on for you.

GODSPEED!

Betsy:
I know you will be just fine, trust your decisions and the staff at CCF. The Cleveland Clinic and Dr. Svensson are the BEST. Say hello to Dr. Svensson for me, he saved my life in September.

Look forward to hearing from you on the "other side of the mountain"....You will love the view.....
