I haven't posted for a while because I have been so extremely busy. Since my knee replacement in January things have just got better. I can walk without limping, it's wonderful. I wish I had had the surgery sooner. My right knee hurts sometimes but nothing like the left knee. Hopefully I can hold out for surgery on it for at least another year. The main thing about knee surgery is the physical therapy afterwards for six weeks. I would walk into therapy but would crawl out. It would hurt so bad but all the pain paid off.
I've been busy working outside getting ready to plant flowers before long. Of course I mowed for six hours yesterday and the pollen was awful. I've had a headache all day.
Just about three more months and hopefully I'll be able to put a picture of me on my new John Deer tractor. I've been shopping around and found one that is big enough to do all the work that we need to do on our farm.
Tuesday & Wednesday I spent with my elderly neighbor lady (78) who was having chest pains. She has no one so we are her family. She is fine, some plaque in her arteries but nothing to worry about right now. The doctor gave her medicine for acid reflex. Another friend had three by passes just last week. If her husband hadn't taken her in when he did she would have probably suffered a major heart attack. I went out and sat with her this afternoon.
My leukemia counts are up a little but I'm not worried about it. I just double up on my chemo drugs for a while.
In June it will be three years since my AVR. I'm still short of breath and break out in cold sweats sometime but all in all everything is well. God is good.
Now if I could lose the much needed weight that I need to. I know it would be better on my heart and also on my knees. I've started walking again so maybe that will help. Last year at this time I was walking with a cane so I've got a lot of catching up to do.
I'm still volunteering in ICU at the hospital and also the "Hand in Hand" program. They would like for me to do more but one day is plenty. It can be very stressful sometimes but I feel that God has put me there for a reason.
