Hi everybody,
I get an e-mail from the FDA anytime there is a recall on medical devices (which include valve implants, pace makers etc...) or medications. This is a free service, you just have to sign up.
I was shocked to learn that the Dr's and/or hospitals are not required to let you know of a recall on medical devices!!
I went to the FDA's website and found out I can be notified by e-mail on any recalls. There were some recalls on valve implants a few years ago and many of the people with these implants had no idea about the recall. This might be the only way to hear about them. So, please everybody, go to the link below and subscribe to MedWatch so you'll be notified of recalls! I posted a thread on Heart Talk about a recall on Medtronic ICD's, but thought I would post here too.
