Sorry, but what is the point of inventing electricity so we can work, study, read, worship, and live a good life after dark and then turning the lights out? I doubt that there are many people who leave lights on when they are not being used because the cost of electricity is so high.

I work all day and do not want to come home and go to sleep or sit in the dark or read by candlelight so shoot me if I am being irresponsible.

The photo is pretty tho.

Some global guilt would be a step forward. There is a whole world out there you know. ;) ;)

A whole world, you don't say? I am just one of those marauding, moronic Americans; therefore, I didn't realize that.

One way to look at the pretty pix is that the world is divided between areas of lightness and those of darkness. At least technologically, the areas of light appear to be more advanced. Of course, we in the West could all turn off our lights -- and our computers -- and make our little corners darker, couldn't we?

Guilt is not a constructive principle to live by. Pragmatism is much better. "Global guilt" is globaloney

Now if we are talking about using energy-efficient light bulbs, and developing alternative energy sources, and using nuclear energy, and drilling our own damn oil until we have better alternatives, those would be some among many pragmatic approaches.
