My hospital discharge paperwork said no driving for 14 days, NO kidding.

Nathan couldn't make it 3 weeks either. He snuck out with a 5 speed Jeep Wrangler no less  on the the day I went back to work.

2 Months

2 Months

It was 2 months for me. And I didn't go back to work for 3 months! Those were the days I guess! I was running and skiing by the time I went back to work.:D Brian

I was told could drive after 4 weeks so that's what I did. They told me to put the seat back as far as possible to avoid airbag issues.

I guess it depends on the surgeons and cardiologist. My cardio has had Mitral Valve repair so he could speak from experience.

6-8 weeks.

To be honest its not you they are worried about as everyone thinks they are safe to potter to the shops and back..including me......but take this scenario into account.....driving along....doing ok....kid runs out from side of road....you have to swerve hard as its too late to brake....you're either going to squish the kid or rip your chest open...neither is a good option.

When you can cough and or sneeze without pain its probably ok to drive..for me it was 6 weeks.
