Everyone has to do Southfork, but I have to confess that I was a tad bit dismayed that the house was not nearly as big as it looked on tv.

Heh...not nearly as big? I've seen pics of it on the Southfork's website...still looks big. Maybe it isn't so in person?

The last time I was in Dallas, I was supposed to go to Southfork on Monday (after we all met for dinner Sunday night) before Tommy and a few others and I went a bit east of Dallas for a cookout with some car buddies of mine. BUT...the day started off on the wrong foot when I woke up late. Then, by the time I decided to head off to at least go look for it, somehow I missed a turn and had to double back...just in time to get back to Tommy's so we could head to Kelly's and his wife's place for the BBQ.

*rolls eyes*

What?!? No one's made a decision while I was gone? ;) Just kidding.

Okay, let's get this all straight:

People who can come Monday: Me, Janet, Marsha, Chris

People who can come Tuesday: Me, Janet, Marsha, Laurie (Chris, can you come Tuesday?).

So what's it gonna be, folks? Either day is fine with me.

Possible meeting spots: (all Grapevine) Mimi's Cafe, Mi Cocina, CPK, El Fenix.

I'm up for any of these as well. We should probably make a final decision so that we can make any arrangements that might be needed. Oh, and how about a time? When will you folks who work be available? ;)

I've never been IN Southfork, but drive by it often now. I'd say that the ranch itself looks big, but the house is kinda dwarfed by all the land around it? I never really watched the show, so I can't say what the difference might be. (please don't shoot me! ;) ) Maybe when you come down again, Cort, I can go with you since I haven't been either. ;) And I know how to get there!

He he ... well, you aren't JR, so I think you are safe! ;)

Heh...I didn't even get to drive by it last time I was in Dallas :(.

Sounds like an AWESOME plan to me!

Niki,
I can come Tuesday, too, so that looks like the best day. Is 7pm a good time?

Works for me! :) Now where are we going to meet? What food sounds best to people (or which restaurant is easiest to find? ;) )?

Mimi's Cafe is easy to find just off of HWY 114 at the TX 26 exit in front of Target.

Chris

Alright! Mimi's it is! Everyone be there at 7. I'll probably try to get there a little before to get a table. What is our total number of people (anyone bringing spouses, children, etc)? I doubt Nathan will be coming.

Niki - At this point I am planning on just me. My hubby will be running our kids around.

Chris

I'll be there; John has to work until 6, so he's begging off. The college he works at is on 4-day workweeks during the summer sessions and those 10-hour days are bad. Next week he goes back to normal hours, 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (Yea!!!!!!)

Niki........

Niki........

Count us in for three. I think Trip is going to bow out of this one............he's just such a teenager now and this somehow or other doesn't fit into his idea of fun :D , but Don, Katie and I will be there. If 114 isn't a parking lot, we should get there a little early, too. Hugs. J.

I'm still not certain if I will be attending, but if I do, whose name are the reservations under?

I'm not sure if Mimi's takes reservations. I'll call this afternoon and find out. But regardless, I'll leave the name "Niki" at the front. I plan to be there first so we can get a table big enough.

Right now it's looking like we'll need a table for 7-10 (another friend of ours from a different group is coming too). I'll go ahead and ask for the 10, just in case! :D See you tonight!

I just got off the phone with the manager at Mimi's. He has us down for a table for 10 at 7 o'clock. It's under my name: Niki. See you all there! :D

I'm not going to make it this time. I have more packing to do for our trip this weekend, and the pet sitter is coming at 7 for instructions.

I'm sorry I missed the dinner. This is just a bad week, with us going out of town.

Agility at the Cat shows?? Are the cats doing agility now, too? I have visions of my morbidly obese geriatric Bombay, who can't even jump up on the bed by himself anymore, trying to do cat agility -<snicker>. Hmm, I can see the cats deciding to take a nap in the tunnel, or curl up on top of the a-frame.

Laurie:

We had a great time last night, and we did miss you!
GIJanet has photos that I hope get posted shortly. Katie, as usual, was a ball of energy.

Yes, some of our cats shows have been featuring agility rings for the last 3 years or so. Because of the need for containment to prevent escape into a large crowded show hall, equipment costs can be pricey, so not all clubs are able to offer agility at shows.
