I met with my Surgeon Paul lapunzano, he felt sooner better than later.
Thats good and bad, I was hopeing to wait untill after the arrival of my grandson in early december. The good news is I have so much to do before the 22nd I wont have time to worry.
I asked about the strike and kaiser isnt affected.
His big concern was the discrepancy of pressure? he trusted the echo more than the cath which showed a severe decline in six months, since its been 2 months since the last echo he could plot where it might be today, add the fact that I dont feel so hot and I really dont have a choice in this matter.

So here we go, I now I have a real opportunity to practice letting go and living in today, I believe I,ve done all I can (with alot of help from this site), so now I,ll just have to trust that all will go well and that I will be a better grandpa for it.

Thanks for all your experience and wisdom its made my decisions easier as well as more informed. K-man

Kman, my surgeon did not stall either....I saw him and 10 days later he had me on the table, also in October. I wanted to be in some kind of functional condition for Christmas that year. I could not lift my presents, but I could rip off the paper and bows. Good enough.
I know it's hard to "hand yourself" over to someone else, but you need to do this. Best wishes.:)

I put it on the calendar Kman, so now it's official! You will be in great shape to enjoy your grandson in early December.

Kman,

GOOD LUCK!

Thoughts/prayers coming your way for a SUCCESSFUL surgery :).

kman,

Joys of grandparenthood are definitely a reward for getting through this. Because I had this done, I am around to play with and enjoy my grandchildren. I wish the same for you and fully expect it to be so. My best thoughts go with you on your journey to the other side of the mountain.

Congratulations on setting the date for your journey over the mountain. Take some time to prepare for the journey and for the recovery on the other side. More importantly, take some time to do some fun stuff as the first few weeks post-op you'll be concentrating on your recovery. By Christmas, you should be in good form. Best wishes.

kman, being a grandparent is the best! Concentrate on that and what adventures life will hold after surgery. After my husband's surgery date was set, it was kind of a relief for us....no more wondering when. Larry's surgery was last Wed. (Oct. 3rd) and it's amazing how well he's doing all ready.

Our prayers and thoughts are with you!
