bummer Ruth

sorry to hear about that bout you are haveing right now . Jus the only thing that still bums me out is that my INR level is not where it should be . Had it checked on MOnday and it was at 2.4 down .5 from last week at 2.9 so hopefully it will begin to stablize. But for now I am watching what I eat and getting my exercises in at least 4 days a week 3 days Carido Rehab and 1-2 days in the Gym doing wieghts. ANyways gotta go for now and get my work done been back now almost a month and things are finally going good for me and starting to lose the wieght I had a gained since I was off 3 months. Hope you get to feeling better here soon ruth.

Hey Ruth--I too had atrial fib that developed a week or so after my surgery. In my case, it was a pericardial effusion combined with the "insult" of surgery that had my heart a little cranky. I was on Sotalol (have been off it since August), and am still on metoprolol. The wild beating of my heart is just what clued me in that something was amiss--I could be sitting at the computer and would get tachycardic and irregular. It was very freaky to feel. And I actually felt worse than I had right after surgery, out of breath with very little exertion, which made it hard for me to be up and around. (This was a week post discharge). I went to Cleveland and my cardiologist took one look at my EKG and echo and told my brother they'd be keeping me for a few days. I was glad, I felt that crummy.

So hang in there, this too shall pass. I remember being frustrated during recovery because I wasn't feeling great fast enough.
