cortisone shots

Has anyone had a bad reaction to a cortisone shot? I had one in the thumb last Thursday and landed up in the ER with a red, very sore, swollen hand. Put me on an antibiotic. Is cortisone dangerous to a heart valve? Seems like a dumb question since it is after the fact. I have carpal tunnel and arthritis in that hand. Thanks,

I wouldn't think so under normal circumstances, but if your body reacted to it like that, I suppose it is possible to have some sort of affect on your heart. I think this one should be answered by Mr. Lodwick if he swings by.
