Cort,

I'M SORRY, DID YOU SAY SOMETHING???????

I don't feel too bad. Seems like many people overlooked that post. Good luck and speedy recovery. Maybe this will CLEAR your calendar for 2006!!!!!

May God Bless,

Danny

Hi Cort. How are you today?? Anxious to hear from you. We're all wondering how you're doing. Of course, you picked my BIRTHDAY to have your surgery, so I thought about you for as much of the day that I was aware of your predicament. I sincerely hope that all of our good thoughts and prayers helped you through the day!!! I think I was probably having more fun than you :( but then I'm still hoping it turned out to be a lucky day for you too :D .

You're still on my mind!! Hope all is well and you got the fix your poor ol' tummy needed!

:) Marguerite

For crying out loud, Cort - I can't turn my back on you for a single day and you're having gallbladder surgery!!!!

Tsk Tsk Tsk; I'll bet that'll take care of your tummy probs.

I presume you're home now???? Of all the things in medicine that have been VASTLY improved over the last 25 years, gallbladder removal has to be at the top of the list.

Bless you kiddo; waiting to hear how you're doing.

I could think of ALOT of better ways to ring in the New Year!!! Best wishes for a SPEEDY recovery:) :)

brother had his out a month after a kidney removal. He was in/out quickly because of the 'short' surgery they do now. Bet you'll be home really quick. Waitin to hear that all is well.

Cort-

I hope by now that you are home and recovering nicely. I also hope that you were a candidate for the minimal surgery with the scope. I had mine done that way, and recovery was a snap.

Anyway, hoping to see how you're doing.

ANy news???

ANy news???

Oh, why didn't we make Cort agree to have someone update us? I know it went well, but I want to see that in print! You're in our prayers, Cort. Now update us, please. Many hugs and much love. J.

I completely missed this too (although I haven't been around much)

CORT - how ya doing????? :D :D :D

Im back...sorta.

I'm still in quite a bit of pain ... been taking Darvacet (er, not sure of the spelling) quite a bit the last few days. I'm just hoping that this pain is from the surgery...and does not mean that something else is wrong, too....

Aye.

Thank you all for your thoughts/prayers/well-wishes ... definitely appreciate them.

Marguerite ... HAPPY BIRTHDAY (sorry I missed it)!

*rolls eyes*

I coulda sworn there was something else I was gonna say, but can't remember it right now....sorry :(.

Cort, like everyone else I'm so sorry I missed your post about the gall bladder surgery. I pray you start feeling better every day and I know you will. Hugs prayers are coming your way Cort. Please take it easy and have a healthy 2006.

Cort,

Glad to see you back and posting even if it's "sorta". Hope things continue to improve and your pain becomes a distant memory.

Here's to a better 2006 than you have had so far.

*nods*

Thank you, Glenda and Gina...definitely appreciate your kind words/prayers :).

*chuckles*

Now...isn't this fitting? I'm still wide awake...aye. Try explaining this to the parents in the morning...lol.

In my defense, though, I've been sleeping most of the last few days...so, it's to be expected that I'm wide awake....just wish I'd be wide awake during the day so I could actually feel up to getting things done.

And, yet, I don't feel like doing much of anything....so, sitting at the computer and reading...and typing...is pretty much the extent of my activities for a while.

*sighs*

Which is going to be darn frustrating...since I really would like to do some things that I normally don't have time for ... but, alas, now that I have the time...I don't have the energy :(. Arg.....

And, now...I think bruises are beginning to form on my stomach area....aye....this is kinda scary.

Okay, honey.........

Okay, honey.........

Better back off those darvocet some.............:D I'm just relieved to see your post. PMed you. Please know that many of us on here think the world of you and are praying that you have a wonderful 2006 and that it brings many good things for you. I hope and pray that you get to feeling better soon. (((((hugs))))) Much love. J.

Cort.....so glad to hear that you are through the surgery. Did they do keyhole surgery for the removal?

Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery:)

Geez Cort. You don't sound like yourself at all. Can you call someone about those bruises so you don't have to worry? Can you get some advice about the sleep patterns? Sometimes these nurses have little tricks they can share with you about how to get back to normal. And that pain? Please call someone and ask about it. You KNOW you'd be cautioning any of us the same way, so think through the muddle of the painkillers and maybe have your parents listen in and take notes on the calls.

Thanks for the birthday wish, by the way. TODAY is my 25th wedding anniversary (hey, we get it all done at once around here!!) and we're so tired of celebrating and the holidays that we're just going to go to a local bookstore, find some travel books and dream up some kind of vacation we can take (probably) after my surgery. I suspect I'll get taken out to dinner, too. So I won't be around today to check up on you........... please know that I'm thinking of you and hoping for a speedier recovery.

Don't worry that you aren't getting things done. You are listening to your body and that's a good thing. Take it easy. You have a long life ahead of you to get all those pesky little things done. Let them go. The drugs are probably doing the "talking" right now anyway and you're not yourself yet. Hang in there!!

Please keep us posted. We worry!!!

:D Marguerite

Cort,

Welcome back...sorta.:)

Hey dude, lay offa them pills man.:D :D

Good to have you back at the computer. Hope the sleep patterns and extra bruises get back to NORMAL soon. Of course, with you WHAT'S NORMAL!!!!!!  :D :D

Good luck on a speedy recovery.

May God Bless,

Danny

Cort,

I've been watching this thread since it started, and I'm glad to see you're home, if in some pain. Don't know why you'd be bruising now. You should call your surgeon's group about that new bruising. It is probably just a little bleeder that leaked, but you should ask.

Keep healing.

Very best wishes,

Aye.

Let's see.....

First...Janet, such kind words...thank you ... believe you rendered me speechless....

It was keyhole surgery ... believe Maureen asked about that....

Marguerite,

Well, in that case then...HAPPY ANNIVERSARY as well!

And, Marguerite and Toba...I have done all you asked. I had to call the surgeon's nurse anyway today to schedule the appointment (will be this Thursday afternoon). When I told her about the continuing pain, she first hesitated...scaringly, of course. Then she said something about, "Wait, you're the one with the heart issues, right?". After I answered affirmatively, she made some comment about it may take me longer to recover. No kiddin'. Anyway, she said not to worry about the pains just yet ... she said if I'm still hurting on Friday, we may have issues. She said the bruises are to be expected, since they use staples...and, yeah, I noticed staples around the bruises.... And, no, they are NOT infected yet ... Mom even double checked...

*rolls eyes*

Oh...and, not worried about not getting things done ... just darn frustrated :(.

And, finally (er, I think anyway), Danny, just what the heck IS normal? ;)
