Three weeks --- it only seems like five or 50....
Actually it's a good thing. Question for me is: Will I or won't I weigh in under 260 tomorrow morning? If so, it will be the first time in a long time. I am close.
Perspective: a few years before my heart surgery, I had ballooned to 280 as a result of living on fast food and commuting a long way to a new job. My "moderate" spinal stenosis was actually severe because of the extra weight. I couldn't walk a block without feeling as though I needed to cry and lie down. I trimmed some then and took physical therapy, and could walk farther.
But now, further down the road, I am making a serious commitment, and should be walking Sadie dog farther than a mile or two on cool fall days (to her delight). Being under 250 by Christmas seems a reasonable goal. Buying jeans a size smaller will be a treat.
Changes: My wife makes a great meatloaf. Used to be that when she'd had all she wanted, I would finish the whole thing in one sitting. Now, practicing portion control, we had enough left over for a second night -- and then there was still a little left over for lunch the following day. Not only cuts calories, it cuts food expenses.
And it's largely due to Cooker's Throw Down. Thank you, Cooker. When we both reach our optimal weights, we should celebrate with a box of Krispy Kremes.
Just ONE box ---
