Challenge accepted! Boy do I need this...after being in and out of a-fib and major plumbing leakage...over the last 2 years I have gained 20. Great motivation Mon Petit Singe...."my little monkey." Current weight: 149 ugh. (that's on my scale....the rehab scale is off by 3 or so pounds!!!!! HA) Using my friendly scale's number.

my prize: to get into my skinny jeans again! :)

Sorry for my attitude for posting my measurments, it may be offensive or a low blow. I shall stick to weight only. Whew, when wrong promptly admit it! For sure the pig valve I have has a direct link to my head sometimes... Bob

You did do anything offensive. Just injected more lively friendly banter.

Bob ... I don't think anyone was offended ... you can post measurements if you like ... of course this is something TheChimp can't do ... can't count that high:tongue2:

Bob, don't go apologizing! I was pleased to see you engaging in the Throwdown banter that we all participate in. I am NEVER wrong, but I know that Cooker often is, so if he spent his time trying to undo all the wrong stuff he spews out, he'd have no time for monkey shenanigans. :tongue2:That's why we take everything written in this forum with a grain of salt, or scone, or milkshake.:biggrin2:

I have a bovine valve so can't speak directly to the connection between pig valves and brain waves, but I have noticed a link between my valve and my increased consumption of dairy products. We'll have to do more research. Oh, Superbob . . . !:tongue2:

I agree, Canoebob, your comments were completely in the spirit of the Throwdown -- don't go apologizing, you have nothing to apologize for! (Besides, measurements excite Bina; Superbob would offer his, but doesn't want to raise her blood pressure. :p) As for consumption related to our valves, I had thought I should swear off BBQ in deference to my piggy savior -- however, I do indulge from time to time, and just say an extra thank-you to that noble and selfless creature, my hero, the piggy.

My weight is unchanged from Friday despite the needless worry I inflicked upon myself of tramatizing my throwdown friends. My waist measurement is up slightly, likely gas I ate one banana! Bob

I'm adding Cindy's weight from Friday. But first let me post her measurements. Just kidding! LOL (I'm not that stupid...hehe). Her starting weight is 150.9!

How's it going? I hope everyone is having a great week and doing well on their individual sprint!! I have not had a good eating week. Stress from most directions has cause me to consume comfort food. I'm not going to beat myself up, just try and get back on track.

Also, I will be sitting with a friends wife Thursday while he has AVR. Bill is 81 and in good health otherwise. He sat with my wife during my AVR and it's time to return the favor. He is in good spirits and we both would covet your prayers for a successful surgery and speedy recovery. Thanks.

Dang, I just had a message vaporize! That's frustrating. Anyway, here goes again:

Cooker, that is a very nice thing for you to do. I will be praying hard for your friend Bill and his wife. Of course, his age draws the interest of this old geezer (me). Will this be his first AVR or is it a re-do?

Sending all best thoughts and wishes to your friends and you tomorrow. It is great that he is in good spirits. Keep us posted.

I have done reasonably well this week. It helps that Superdawg is absolutely insisting on two walks a day again. She must sense fall in the air, even though it's still fairly summerish (cool down starts end of this week). Also the fireworks bombardment has slowed down so Sadie dog likes that. :smile2: So the walks plus an occasional swim are helping me. BTW, the cancer doctor looked at all my tests and cleared me of a bunch of nasty things (leukemia, etc.). He is going to do another follow-up around Christmas. Still a possibility of some bone marrow problem causing borderline anemia, but he doesn't want to do that invasive bone marrow test unless there's more evidence of a problem. Incidentally, I read a Cleveland Clinic paper online last night that said multiple medications including lisinopril or other ACE inhibitors sometimes can cause suppression of the bone marrow. I need to ask the docs about that. Okay TMI from me.

Cheers to Cooker's friends, and to all Throwdowners.

P.S. Just saw Mary's update, and adding this edit -- very glad test No. 1 is done and okay, Duffey, and wishing you best on the scan!

Tom, I'm putting Bill in my prayers and will keep him there until you advise he's safely reached the other side of his valve replacement journey.:smile2:

As for me, two medical tests down, and one to go! So far, so good, but I have to say, whoever/whomever invented the colon prep solution is one sick b------! :eek2:

Superbob, glad to read that your tests are negative for the real nasty stuff.

While it's still fresh in my mind, I want to mention my experience with antibiotics and the colonoscopy . I have a bovine valve, so I didn't have to deal with the bridging issue that mechanical valvers do. However, they did want me on antibiotics, so I received them in the IV. Sometimes we read differing opinions about our replacement valves and the need for antibiotics, but I was very relieved that it was a non-issue.

Cooker, please give all our best wishes to Bill and his wife. They are so lucky to have you!

I've been behaving and doing lots of exercise all week, but nothing much to show after Monday WW weigh in.

107 here yesterday, and Jet still wants to play ball all day! That's after DH takes her for the early morning walk. She's recovering well from the root canal, not that a Lab will tell you if something hurts. At least she's stopped flinching when I inspect her mouth for swelling.
I just hope her December check up goes well. I'd so like to keep that tooth, especially since it's practically made of gold$$$.

Cool down starts this evening, they say, so I'll be adding back evening walks again soon.
