Good for Cindy -- I agree with her on going back to individuals for the Red, White, and Blue (a race in which SB surely will excel. :p )

Superbob will weigh in on Saint Patrick's Day as a reality check -- probably will be up a few for this race. And then soon after, will go feasting and drinking in grand Irish style. And then get serious about shedding some excess pounds.

Laurie, Cindy and I are the face of the Girl's team. I haven't calculated any one's weight loss other than my own, so I don't know if we're doing better or worse than the guys.

I'd like to finish the St. Paddy's Day race and not roll straight into the July 4th one. I think that is too long of time to stay motivated. Lord knows, it seems like I'm the only one who's been motivated this time around!:tongue2:

How about starting the Thursday after Easter? That would give us about 9 weeks, and the weather will be more conducive to outdoor activity. I don't care if we do it as individuals or as teams. Cindy shouldn't feel guilty about anything. I like having her as my teammate no matter how she's doing, and she's usually doing better than me.:wink2

Three days left till green beer!:biggrin2:

throwing in my useless 2 cents.....;).....like Mary said, have a shorter race and/or break, but with Easter falling
so late in April, why not have a mini Easter race and then go into the July 4th race?
Easter is always a dangerous time for sugar freaks.

I'm surrounded by BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD influences :eek2: If I can stay away from the Banana Pudding Milkshake I should be able to keep away from the chocolate bunnies, and I can:thumbup: Now jelly beans are a different story:biggrin2:

You da man, er chimp, Cooker: You are our inspirational leader! Good goin'!

How about on Saint Paddy's Day, we post what we have lost or gained for this race (SB fears he is in the bad-boy category)...and declare winners. Then regroup for the next race, whatever that may be....

Sounds like a plan to me SB!

What are normal hemoglobin values?
The hemoglobin level is expressed as the amount of hemoglobin in grams (gm) per deciliter (dl) of whole blood, a deciliter being 100 milliliters.

The normal ranges for hemoglobin depend on the age and, beginning in adolescence, the gender of the person. The normal ranges are:

•Newborns: 17-22 gm/dl

•One (1) week of age: 15-20 gm/dl

•One (1) month of age: 11-15gm/dl

•Children: 11-13 gm/dl

•Adult males: 14-18 gm/dl

•Adult women: 12-16 gm/dl

•Men after middle age: 12.4-14.9 gm/dl

•Women after middle age: 11.7-13.8 gm/dl
All of these values may vary slightly between laboratories. Some laboratories do not differentiate between adult and "after middle age" hemoglobin values

You might want to start popping iron vitamins or get more iron in your diet.

Thanks, Nelson, yeah mine is borderline low for an old geezer. Thing is, it has dropped, so the alert doc (and I do appreciate the alertness) wants me to march off to get iron and B-12 tested. Also wants me to take a test to see if there has been some hidden bleeding, but I doubt that. Hopefully it just means popping a supplement daily (something I've resisted doing but will do if my doc orders it)....:redface2:
