I have done away with the Christmas gain and can now post a 1/2 pound loss for the week ... making up for pounds gained was not easy but it was time to get back on track and lose the goody gain ....

We need to get this started so I declare the St Patty's Race on ... as last year we will have an individual race but I am gunning for SuperBob ... SB and I seem to have the same eating pattern with the ups and downs and those pop-pop pancakes are just the other side of the banana pudding coin ... so my starting weight is 211.5 ... if anyone wants to change the rules of the race speak up or forever hold you fork:biggrin2:

Throwdown Starting Weight: 233
Last Week: 212
This Week: 211.5

I weighed this morning because I knew that I'd be up. Therefore, I will have more to contribute to either the swingers or the swoopers...hehe.

My St. Patty's Race starting weight is 178.7. That's up at least 2 pounds from last week. I had cake last night, which I knew would bump me up.

I am laying down a personal gauntlet and shooting to lose 20 lbs. during this race. No likely, but you know what they say, if you shoot for the moon you'll fall among the stars!

Wise, I'll see your 20 and call ... that sounds like a good goal for TheChimp as well! ... Don't know if I will make it but I need to set a gaol and if you are brave enough to set yours at 20 I'm with you ... SuperBob???????

Since the starting date of the Race was set previously at Jan. 2, Superbob will continue to nibble and munch through the Tennessee Volunteers' bowl game this evening (GO VOLS!), plus New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. Having bulked up, he will then take a baseline weight for the Saint Paddy's Day contest. First projected loss: Friday, January 7, 2011.

Projected weight loss for the Race: 7 pounds. (Being a rational superhero, Superbob does not set unreachable goals. However, if he exceeds a 7 pound loss, he will certainly take it.) :D Luck of the Irish to all! (Actually all luck to the Vols today. :smile2:

Superbob's correct; January 2 was the starting date for the Race for the Green. Chimp says it starts today . . . so whatever's decided, I'm in for the long haul. I personally like teams, but I'll go along with whatever we do.
My weight today is 161 pounds. March 17, it will be 150.

Just read the replies to last week's throwdown thread. I doubt that Rhena is going to want to mess with keeping track of teams, since mid-race will fall during the time she's having a valve replaced. :thumbd: BUT, she might surprise us!:smile2:

I have a 4 lb gain this week so I've gained all that I lost two weeks ago. Yesterday I cleaned out the frig including half of a chocolate cake. I was the only one left eating on it. Also gone is the lemon cake in the trash. We ate the pralines so none of those left. I'm in for the St Patty's day race.

I've been MIA this week, as year end is insane in a tax practice. Next year looks to be very busy with the new tax legislation creating major gifting opportunities for our clients.

So, I've missed most of my mid-day walks, and have succumbed to several tasty treats. I am, however, down another .1 (that's 1/10 of a pound) from last week. Unfortunately, I still have the 5 lbs I've been trying to shed for a year plus.

I'll have to start in the hole on Monday, as I have big plans for Saturday -eat-fest-with-wine-tasting with all the retriever training winos, I mean oenophiles.

Happy New Year everyone!

Yes, Happy New Year Throwdowners!

May it be a year in which peace, justice, and the American Way prevail -- to include the Volunteers not getting robbed by referees calling the game over, Vols win, Vols win, and then deciding, oh no, the other team has 1 second left to kick a field goal to tie the game and send it into OT. :mad2:(Or as earlier in the regular season versus LSU, the other team gets one untimed play at the 1 yard line after time has expired)---ugh!!!

Okay, Superbob persuaded his woes this morning by going to a nice sports bar on the MB boardwalk staffed by empathetic Vols' (and, okay, Gamecocks) fans and eating a super foot-long chili dog and a side of onion rings. New Year's Eve and NYD munching yet to come -- SB will have mega-pounds to shed when the race begins! :rolleyes2:

Great strategy Superbob! I think I'll go out and get me a footlong chili cheese dog with wonderfully crispy onion rings to beef up for the race. Yea yea yea! Oh, but wait. I can't eat the bun. I can't eat the cheese. I can't eat the breading. I need a food pass from the food monitor. ; )

Well, heck, Kentucky Flash, get you two foot-longs then, and just eat the 'dogs and the chili!

Superbob, I decided on hard shell tacos with ground turkey and green salsa. Not bad.

Here is Cindy's starting weight for NY to SP race: 146.2

Also, Rhena if I can be of help in keeping track of teams, in whatever configuration they are, I would be glad to. I am below novice in spreadsheets, but I can learn still. Just offering.

Is everyone still partying, i.e. eating? Bumped up weights will bode well for the race, but you have to report in first. :tongue2:

I still have family here for holiday. Been here since 22 Dec. I think they're leaving shortly. I love my family but this has been a long holiday haul. They occupy my weigh-in room. I will try to do a baseline weigh-in Monday ayem.

I weighed today - My fellow throwdowners - I am embarrassed to state that my starting weight as of 1/2/2011 is 211.:mad2::thumbd::p

There I've said it and now all there is to do is to do something about it!!. I've got 4 weeks to get some of that back off before surgery and I'm motivated. I'll jump back in afterwards and I should be in pretty decent shape come St. Paddy's day I hope!

Here's my idea. I you haven't already weighed do this the earliest date you can in Jan. and that is your starting weight.

I gotta tell you - I'm with Mary. I like teams, and here is why. It is more motivating for me to help my team than it is to help myself when I am so far behind I dont stand a snowball's chance of winning, but my loss may help my team.

Let's do boys vs. girls again and I say spot the girls 4 to 5 lbs. I'll try to look back to our old threads and see how much the girls lost by. I think it was somewhere around 4 to 5 lbs. You guys chicken or do you think you can still beat us givng us a ittle head start??

I'd try to go co-ed, but I'm still not real clear on who is joining this race and the best way to do it.

I'm happy to get a spreadsheet started, but someone else may have to keep it going for a couple of weeks until I've recovered a bit but we can figure that out later.

I still need to talk to Hank or someone on how to delete my old PDF's. I'm still out of space and not sure what I do about it Maybe I have to go back to each post and delete it or something.

ANYWAY Ally Ally Ox in Free ! We have started - so come out come out wherever you are and WEIGH! Oh and by the weigh (pun intended) you don't have to tell us what you weigh if you don't want to, however you are on your honor to report in a gain or loss by end of day Monday following the date a thread is started. You are allowed a pass now and then, but three passes and you're out out (except for extenuating circumstances.)

We will count the first weigh in from this coming Thursday's thread (Starting Jan 6th thru 10th). Only one weigh in a week! See how I start getting bossy again!?

What say you guys on spotting us girlie girls some pounds?:smile2: You game?

Prolly the only spottin' will be the guys spottin' the girls eatin' chocolate that's been airshipped by a caped crusader in defense of truth, liberty and the boys' team. Insert big ole grin right hyar.

Rhena, thanks for keeping the tally ... OK men we are five pounds in the hole so let's get to losing:thumbup::thumbup:

OK ... the unintentional bulking up is over (I hope) .... my starting weight is 215 ... I have gained 3.5 pound since Thursday and I can account for every ounce ...

No need for embarrassment for it is what it is ...

Starting Weight: 215
Next Week: ???????????????????
