Not a good week weight wise but I have started exercising ... I have joined the gym and have been swimming and some light weight training ... not enough to counter act the Halloween candy but I’m excited and I do feel much better ....

Off to the foothills today to see some colors (I hope) and buy some apples ... just good to get out of town...

I saw on the local news where some dentist are buying back Halloween candy and giving it to an organization that sends it to our troupes ... sounds like a great idea ... wish I had some to sell:redface2::redface2::redface2:

Thanksgiving Day Marathon Starting Weight: 217
Last Week .... 225.5
This Week .... 226.5
Marathon Stats .... +9.5:eek2:

Have fun today, Mr. Chimp.

We seem to be back in March, but heck that's a good month. Back to the Future.

Superbob is down an additional 1.8 pounds this week.

For the Marathon to Thanksgiving, he is now down 5.9 pounds.

Acting like a health freak, Superbob mostly gave out bags of Utz pretzels to trick-or-treaters. He actually got scolded by a few tiny tots who complained "we don't like pretzels!" You'd think having a few non-sugary treats mixed in with 20 pounds of candy would be acceptable. Anyway when SB had given out all the pretzels, he started dispensing candy as usual. There is some of that left, but Superbob will NOT eat it.:angel:

Good luck guys and gals.

Good job SuperBob!! ... I have a question .... Is the a weight loss race or is it the greatest net delta change?????:tongue2:

Sorry, Cooker, for not seeing the new thread you started. Yes, I griped about it in a reply on last week's thread.:redface2:

I had to go wayyyyyyyyyy back in the Throwdown archives to find my starting weight for the race. August 17 to be exact. Anywayyyyyyyyy, I weigh exactly what I did at the start of the T-Day race, but at least it was a 2.5 pound loss for the week.:smile2:

Starting weight for Thanksgiving Marathon: 148.5
This week's weight: 148.5
Loss for the week: 2.5
Loss for the race: zip:biggrin2:

Calculated sorta like this? ....

a) x²+3x-4=0, a = 1, b = 3 e c = -4,
b) -2x²-5x+6=0, a = -2, b =-5 e c = 6,
c) -x²+2x-7=0, a = -1, b = 2 e c = -7.

Common weight-loss net Delta change math on the Planet Krypton.... ; )

Saturday was a good diet day and Sunday scales heading in the right direction ... turned today over and I expect another day of conrtol:thumbup:

Are we missing some folks???????:confused2:

Okay, I'm going to call people out -- where are the Kentucky Flash & Cindy? Where's Laurie? How about Skigirl with her weekly diet/exercise tip -- looked forward to her advice and Aussie participation. Speaking of the land Down Under, how can we lure Ton back here?:smile2:

All right, Superbob may have to make some global flights and have a Throwdowner roundup! :wink2:

Sorry for my disappearance lately. I've been reading but have failed to post my weight. My weight for this week is 189.6. That leaves me at +1.1 for the race.

I saw a new doctor this week and waiting for results from a blood test, particularly relating to thyroid levels to determine if I continue at the same dose. Anyway, I really like the guy and we share the same birthday. Got to be a good doctor with that birthday!

We just got our treadmill repaired and Cindy is downstairs walking on it right now. Maybe she will weigh in next week. I'll use the treadmill too, but enjoy walking outside more.

All bummed out tonight, for more than political reasons, and that is certainly depressing for me. However, I'm being sent for an MRI to check for a petuitary tumor. My new doctor discovered the abnormality with my petuitary gland on a blood test. He check that out because of other hormonal imbalances we already know about, including thyroid levels and testosterone, which were reconfirmed by the blood tests. Anyway, I'll be going for an MRI when he schedules it. Prayers are appreciated, but it seems from what I've read that this can usually be cured by surgery and drug therapy, if it is indeed a petuitary tumor. Oh, and my cholesterol is 267, which the doctor wants to combat first with diet and exercise. Now is my chance to ratchet up my efforts.

Apologies for the Aussie absence, I've been away at a race. Managed 39th fastest female of 144, really quite happy with that. Anyway, this leads to my tip for the week: find an event to do. Make it a race if you wish - doesn't matter. Having a goal will mean you are TRAINING instead of the dreaded WORKING OUT or worse, suffering through exercise you don't want to do just to keep your weight down.

If you can't find an event, challenge each other to a timed 2km walk and compare times instead of your weights! Post your events . . . .

Wise, I can understand the reasons for being bummed out, on both counts. But the really important one is your health. I am sending my prayers for you -- it is good to know that this is something treatable with good results but I know that's stil a touigh road. Hang in there, guy.

Ski Girl, I will try to think of some events. Maybe banana pudding sprints with The Chimp to see who can consume the most in 30 minutes' time. :tongue2: Okay, just kidding. I seriously have been considering signing up for some Senior Olympics events in the spring.

Superbob, banana pudding sprints are not acceptable as an event. However, if you were to sprint THROUGH banana pudding, that would be very acceptable. And low impact, good for the joints! Heehee

Could have wrestling matches in big vats of banana pudding! Hmmmmmm. :tongue2: Will have to get word from The Chimp of what he thinks of this idea. ;)

Oh and Ski Girl, congratulations on running that great race with superb results!

I appreciate that SB. Also noticed that I can't correctly spell pituitary. I'm a little nervous about it. Waiting for the MRI to be scheduled.

Sorry to read about the problems with the pituitary gland, Wise. I'll be waiting to hear what you learn from the MRI, and I'll keep you in my prayers.

Congratulations ski girl on your race finish placement. That is terrific! Thanks for reminding me that I need to sign up for a 5K walk so I will have to train. With the cooler temperatures, there's really no reason not to.

I've been having digestive issues, always after dinner, usually if I've consumed milk and cereal during the day. Has anyone developed an intolerance to milk when previously there was none?

Laurie, glad to see a post from you. I hope work slows down soon.

I'm headed to New Orleans early Friday morning, but I hope to weigh in tomorrow, if I can squeeze it in before a beauty shop appointment.

Superbob, celebrate Monday's birthday appropriately . . . . or not!:wink2:
