Mr. Chimp - What have you done to me? I'm up, too.

2013 starting weight: 164.6
Last week: 164.6
This week: 165.6

It is "only" a pound, but emotionally it is a ton. Got to work it off. . .

Sorry, Cooker: You'll be back on track, I know you will. (Steve, your "gain" looks like normal fluctuation. You look on course to incredibly perceptive Superbob : ) )

Superbob will weigh in officially tomorrow morning -- so far, it's looking pretty stay the same. If I could ever kick my habit of late-night snacking, I would be making faster progress.

Will post an activities report also tomorrow with the start of implmenting the Kentucky Flash's good idea to keep us moving....

Speaking of that, I've made an appointment for mid-February with my ortho. I love walking dearly, but my left knee is getting worse and worse. Hurts even at night some, I want him to re-evaluate it and see if he wants me to try more injections or other hocus-pocus or if he's ready outright to recommend replacement. If I could do more walking (which I very much want to do), I think I could lose more weight, and take pressure off my back, and thereby avoid back surgery. Just my thinking/rambling/venting -- thanks for listening.

Cheers to all -- The storm has passed and the coast is clear....:smile2:

So when did we start the activity challenge? .... I swam 60 laps today which is .85 miles in 45 minutes ... slow but steady ....

I would start it from your weigh day, which would include today for you. I will start tomorrow 2-1 and walk on Cindy's treadmill until I get a reliable pedometer.

Steve, keep it up, you'll start to lose again. I understand about it feeling like a ton emotionally, especially when you're trying your best.

Superbob, maybe the doc will go ahead and get the replacement over with. Whatever method used, I hope you're pain free soon!

Cooker, I admire you for posting when you've had gain. I know that's not easy to do.

Today I'm up 1.5 pounds, but I will weigh again in the morning.

Thanks Wise, being honest with you guys helps keep me honest with myself ... plus I know we all understand the yo-yo curse:rolleyes2:

So, are we tracking weekly or is there a finish line somewhere far, far away?

I'm open to either. I will report my progress when I report my weight each week. I don't think we're racing to particular date, but encouraging those participating on their personal quest to walk, bike, swim, swing or fly 100 miles.

However I'm open to specific time period if that's helpful. Thoughts?

Superbob has progress! :D

I'll begin logging mileage starting today, and will report weekly at weigh-in dates.

I am struggling with the usual weight fluctuations along with some high-stress projects at work -- during our coldest stretch of the year. This morning it was about 2 degrees F outside, 54 degrees in my office when I got here. It is up to almost 60 now, so there's hope. (Not much hope - peak temp in my office yesterday was 64.)

Good job there SB! In his non competitive race you are ahead of the pack!

I too will start counting my mileage as of today. I did move this week, but unmeasurably so!

Here's our weigh-in:

CINDY:

Starting weight: 157.8
Last week: 158.8
This week: 158.5
Weekly loss: .3
Net change: +.7

WISE:

Starting weight: 194.5
Last week: 186.3
This week: 187
Weekly change: +.7
Total loss: 7.5

A little blip in the road for me. A nudge in he right direction for Cindy. Truthfully we both could ave faired much worse, so this is a very good report following a stressful week for us. Onward and downward!

Hey, SB....weigh to go....250's knocking on the door!!!!!!!

I'm up a smidge today, but I have been too busy to get much exercise in this week. I'll start counting miles as of today.

We've had birthdays and lunch meetings at the office, so it's not too bad all things considered.

WW Start:146.3
last Monday WW: 142.5
this Monday WW 142.0
Today 142.8

Elliptical mileage: 2 miles this morning. I'm not going to get to walk at lunchtime today, that's not how I wanted to start the challenge!
Miles to go: 98

I worry about tomorrow's weight - dinner today at my wife's favorite Chinese restaurant. I just know there's a ton of sodium lurking in those fancy dishes, and it will result in some pounds of fluid buildup for me. I'm thirsty already. . .

Aside from taking extra diuretics, does anybody know any other ways to lose the fluid? I don't drink beer, and we have no asparagus in the house (both are diuretics).

I thought I responded, but since it's not there I will do it again. An old friend of ours used to used to use lemons as a diuretic. He sliced them and suck on them like they were a big treat. Maybe iced water with a lot if fresh lemon would help.

Super Sunday eating coming up in this household. Big Mama and I have made a huge pot of chili, and there will be cornbread and all kind of munchies. My 4.4 pound loss for the year could be wiped out like a gimpy quarterback under an all-out blitz. :eek2: Oh well. . . . :wink2:

Cooker's Throwdown Friday ... 2-1-13

I don't think I posted last week. I maintained (which was probably really good based on my eating that week). This week I was down 0.4. That means no gain for a month!

Has anyone else felt like they were carrying weight differently post surgery? I seem to have more "belly fat" than ever before.
