If it's OK with you guys, I'm going to throw in weekly bits of advice! :)

This week: incidental exercise. When you go to the store, any store, all stores, park at the BACK of the car park as far away as you can. Then walk from there. Instead of burning petrol (sorry, gas!) driving around to find a closer space, you will burn fat from your body! Win-win!

Ski Girl, I love your advice! We have had Aussie participation here in the past and appreciate the views from there. :smile2:

I agree with this advice, and follow it when I can. My wife has serious mobility problems (and is in physical therapy now, which will possibly result in her getting a wheelchair-type device). So we do often use the handicapped spaces when going out together. Because of back and knee problems, I am using a cane more and more frequently, but I still try to walk extra distances when I can. If she gets a wheelchair, that will help both her and me, because I will get extra exercise pushing it.

I probably am the most senior of the Throwdowners, so others here probably don't have these limitations. So yes, yes, please chip in with your thoughts as often as you like. They are appreciated.

That is good advice Ski Girl, I agree. Will I heed it? I don't know. I do walk in my neighborhood, but to tell the truth walking through a parking lot at the grocery or department store is almost dangerous, lol. Down under, do people drive without regard to their surroundings and whether or not pedestrians are present. Of course, the extra exercise is good for anyone. I do like the idea of walking in the malls in the mornings before the crowds show up, but right now I'm doing that in my neighborhood, which is still safe from psychotic drivers.

BTW, where is our beloved leader and intrepid Chimp today? Hasn't started the new week's TD yet -- not like him. Hope he's okay.

I actually know this answer. What is "He is okay." He called to check on Cindy and me, which, as some of you know, is how the chimp is, always thinking about others. He mentioned having less free time than usual, so I think that's what happened.

I guess he'll start the thread tomorrow? It's ok with me, I didn't weigh this morning, and I'm not eager to hop on the scale.

Ski girl, glad you're stopping by to help us out. I can use all the weight loss tips and advice that I can get!

Starting the thread tomorrow is fine with me, too. I haven't weighed yet. And I know very well The Chimp is always thinking of others. I just knew that he'd had some med tests recently, and although the results were good, was worried maybe there had been some setback. Guess that's what little I contribute -- worrying.

I would lump all you Throwdowners in the "always thinking about others category." It's hard not be concerned about family and friends, and we've been friends long enough to practically be family. No new or recurring injuries allowed or health scares allowed for the rest of the month!

A funny I need to tell. I was trying to type superb on my iPhone earlier and it autocorrected it to Superbob, which it did just now when I actually meant to use it. So I guess an alternate name for you SB is superb-Bob!
