Okay, up and march around the breakfast table, Throwdowners -- it's a New Year! Happy 2014! So much more football to watch, but we've made a good start. :biggrin2: And baseball Spring Training is just around the corner. GO REDBIRDS!

Superbob spent some time on the exercise bike yesterday watching the South Carolina Gamecocks take care of those Wisconsin Badgers -- way to go, Gamecocks!

Superbob's final reported weight for 2013 is (ta-da!): 263. That is a net loss of 2 for the year (which may not seem like much but is a big recovery from the packing-on of weight that went on around Thanksgiving. Order has been restored. SB is down 4 in his first two weeks of WW.)

And 263 is also SB's starting weight for the Saint Paddy's Day Race. This is an 11-week race, and connivin' Superbob intends to win it. Other Throwdowners can have a good competition for second place if they want. :biggrin2: Seriously, some may prefer just to check in without competing, and that's fine, too!

Once again, I hope the New Year brings good health and happiness to all my wonderful friends here.

Greetings Throwdowners ... My starting weight for 2014 and the race to St Paddy's day is 232 ... I am on a downward trend due to a nasty little stomach bug that hit New Years Eve... :mad2:

I just want to say how much I am enjoying SuperBob at the helm of the Throwdown!! Very refreshing!!

Here's wishing all a healthy and happy 2014!

It must be warm in South Carolina, because Superbob and Cooker would not be so cheerful if stuck with the crappy weather those in the north are enduring. Baby, it's COLD outside.:eek2:
I ended 2013 at 151.5. That's the same weight as my first weigh-in of 2013, and the weight I'll start the Paddy's Day race with.

Next couple of days in the 20's:eek2: ... Staying the same is a victory:thumbup:

Love that handsome Redbird in the snow, Duffey. We'uns ain't got no snow down heah, least we'uns in the coastal parts don't. But you'uns up thar in the Land of the Redbirds do --- count it as at least a partial blessing. :biggrin2:

And as Cap't Cooker done said, maintainin' is winning'! :thumb up:

And besides it ain't getting out of the 30s here tomorrow --- brrrrrrrrr!!!!!!

Sure enough, it is flat cold here today; bitter-cold wind. - yes even at the Redneck Riviera. :p

Trying to decide if Superdawg and I can tough out a short walk. She's game.

Got to avoid temptation to go for big helpings of comfort food today :eek2:

Hoping that Ann is recovering well and doing nicely, and all Throwdowners are safe and snug.

Brrrr it's cold! I love summer is my only comment.

Doing well this week, even with using more than my splurge points. Still showing on track for a loss. We'll weigh tomorrow and see for sure.

Have to go out to the grocery today if we want to eat anything later (other than the Hershey's kisses sitting on the kitchen counter). I would love a really good broiled/baked seafood platter. Maybe SB can start a flying delivery service; wouldn't even need an airplane, or a bird for that matter. I'll start perusing the menu at Sea Captain's House....

Having salmon tonight at the Superbob house. Bound to stay on track. :biggrin2:

Had a good weigh-in. I lost a pound and Cindy lost 1.2. My starting weight for 2014 and the Race to St. Paddy's Day is 177. Cindy's is 150.4. Thanks for rejoining WW, I lost 17 1/2 lbs. in 2013. I don't know Cindy's statistics for the year but I do know that she is down 11 pounds since rejoining WW.

Hope everyone is doing well. Ann, heal up please.

Wow, those are impressive stats! Now that I have finally joined WW, I hope mine are at least half as impressive by end of 2014! I did use some of my points to eat a cherry danish my DW presented me at our grandkids' basketball games today. Otherwise, staying on track.

Using your points to eat the cherry danish IS staying on track. That's the beauty of losing weight without restricting food groups! That's why I can have chocolate...often.

Had Beaufort Stew last night which helped me stay in my points even after a small cookie and cream milkshake!!!

Cold and wet in central SC today. Thank the Lord no frozen stuff!!!!

I bought Danish last night in anticipation of sub-zero temperatures and a pressing need for comfort food. It's odd, but I didn't eat any. Left it for the kids and DH. Sometimes I think I'm driven by my need to have accessibility to the forbidden stuff rather than a desire to consume it. It was that way when I quit smoking 38 years ago. I kept a pack of cigarettes in the car, so if I absolutely had to have one, I could. It worked then so maybe it's working now.
Everyone seems to be doing really well; now if Ann would get better so she could type an encouraging post, we'd be set. I wonder if Bina would be Ann's DP?

I agree -- hope Ann is getting better, and will be back with us soon.

For my part, I like to keep not-so-forbidden fruit around. Since I have discovered that apples do not add to my points total, they have become my midnight snack -- as opposed to all the sugary goodies stashed away throughout this house. :biggrin2:

I still have some splurge points before my "other" weigh-in Tuesday. Maybe I will scout up a scone tomorrow. :smile2:

Had to look up Beaufort Stew. Don't think it's made in these parts. Quite an interesting looking dish!

We didn't get any frozen stuff either, thankfully! We did have a 0 degree day all day yesterday and this morning. We are however warming up to a balmy 16 later today. 50's on Saturday, but with rain.

The free fruit helps a lot. We usually have a banana or two during the day, sometimes and apple or an orange too. I sometimes get the urge to swing on vines though.

Duffey, your discipline is in a different realm than mine. However, I do get what you're saying. Interestingly, I can do that with chocolate. Now, I do eat some everyday, but it is within my WW points (and/or splurge points depending). If I had something with icing/frosting sitting on the counter, then I'd be in a heap of danger.
