I've wanted to try the Starbuck's Blond, but they don't make it in decaffeinated - and I try to stay with decaf. Chock Full O' Nuts is good, too. I favor the richer, medium roasts. One of my favorites has always been Kenya AA -- very rich, and just a bit "winey."

Duffey - I hear you on the Gevalia. We keep some on hand at home - even their decaf is very good.

Of course, the medium roasts are not for the espresso machine. That requires the body of a darker roast, usually Illy.

The smiles and banter of the baristas make the extra money spent for a prepared drink at Starbucks worth it to me (as opposed to grinding my own). When I had my heart surgery, they were like extra family with their expressions of concern. This is a luxury but I don't smoke cigs or drink liquor so I can justify this indulgence, I think. :smile2:

I do use the K-cups (Breakfast blend) for my basic java in the morning.

I love coffee -- it's an essential for me. :thumb up:

PS: On the workout front, I discovered yesterday that I can use the community workout room while it's being renovated, and it was great to get in a workout to supplement my Superdawg walk. They will be closing the room down soon to replace the floor and do other fix-up, but it will be nice to return to a refurbished room this winter. I need more than the smell-the-roses dawgwalk. Other walkers keep inquiring about sweet ol' Sadie's age -- bit of a downer, except the other morning a pretty young lady asked and I replied,"Yes we're two old dogs," and she sweetly replied, "old berries make sweet wine." Made an old guy's day. ; )

Wow, well early report: I am pleased that I am 3 pounds lighter than I was on this day last week. I'm still 4 pounds above my target weight for the end of 2013, but at least I have started correcting the recent damage.

With all the feasting holidays and parties coming up, I will be doing well just to maintain between now and Jan. 1. But I am setting a revised objective of meeting my 2013 goal by Valentine's Day -- and then setting a new goal.

It is helpful that I've been able to gain access to the workout room in the amenities center that is being renovated. I need the extra exercise because sweet ol' Sadie, though she still loves her daily walk, likes to sniff about every blade of grass nowadays, it seems. :biggrin2:
