I think I do better with sprints too. I feel some sprinting is in order between now and the 17th! Actually, I'm hanging in there and have lost the added weight I picked up in Mexico and now have an opportunity to at least contribute something to our corporate weight loss. You all seem to be doing so well!

Way to go, Betty!

And BTW what happened to our guy in Paris? Has he been done in by that haute cuisine in gay Paree? (And yes I am using that three-lettered word in its old sense -- Superbob is, after all, an oldie.)

I was totally surprised to see my post! When I went to submit it a page appeared and said it couldn't display the page. It didn't appear so I thought I would just try again later. This time it was there.

I'll weigh the 17th in the AM since I will be making corn beef and cabbage dinner. It probably is one of my favorite splurges. Sometimes I just have to have a good Rueben too. I do my best to lighten it up but some things must not be tampered with too much.

I am having a problem with exercising at Curves that I'm not sure is solvable. The exercises are setting off my shoulder, back, knee and ankle. I've been babying my ankle and some days I almost have to stay off of it totally. I hate to even think about it but I wonder if the pin has shifted and is causing problems. I only went once last week and tried again this Monday and omitted some of the exercises and doubled up on others but it isn't working. Maybe it is just an arthritis flare-up. I'm paid up to October! I think it may be better to avoid the exercising than going back on steroids. I'm not giving up yet though but will give it a rest for a week or so.

Superbob has been trying to be good in stocking his pantry, particularly with snack foods. But some of them taste too good -- like trail mix, for instance, with the raisins and nuts. Trying eating just one handful of that! -- it's rather like eating just one potato chip. :( Oh well, pass the prune juice! :p

:)
Ok, by order of the Chimp Man, the Ref has been drug out of the closet for an OFFICIAL PROCLAMATION!

Drum roll, please . . . .

IN CONSIDERATION OF THE FIRST ANNUAL ST. PATRICK'S DAY OFFICIAL THROWDOWN RACE BEING HELD, IT IS HEREBY PROCLAIMED THAT THE FIRST WEIGH-IN OF 2010 IS DECLARED THE OFFICIAL STARTING DATE AND WEDNESDAY, MARCH 17, 2010 IS OF THE ENDING DATE OF THE BODACIOUS CONTEST HENCEFORTH KNOWN TO ALL THROWDOWNERS AS SPDTD1

Any, and all, grievances should be directed to TheChimpCooker's attention.

The Ref

I second that proclamation! (Ref in training:p:cool:)
SB, try putting small portions of trail mix into little zipper loc plastic baggies....and eat only ONE or two per day.

Hey SB.. I think you missed the keywords in the sentence. :) But hey, - by my sort of fuzzy memory count - I think you are weigh ahead in the race to green beer so you are doing something right. Good job!

I've had a week.. just now having time to catch-up. Lots to catch-up on - yall have been busy. Wise- no biggie - frustrating I know. Feel better. Congrats to Cindy in fact to everbody a grope hug..... eer.. that was group hug :) Everyone seems to have had a good week. I'm down 2! and happy about that. Duffey, I may have an answer for your plateau... let me continue testing the theory and then I'll share if I really believe it works.

I'm in for the race to the Stars and Stripes or whatever we decide to name it, Firecracker 500 is already taken right? Darn if I don't have a vacation planned in late May to Gay Paree (I'm with you SB) & Germany but I'll have time to recover. Speaking of Paris - at least Art got us all started even if he seems to have dropped out. Maybe he'll join us on the next one. I'd actually call this a long distance race though. Maybe we need a couple of one or two week sprints in the middle to make it even more challenging. Just a thought...

OK - my numbers.. may I say again - 2 lbs vanished - just cause I like to hear it.;) Total contribution to leprachaun day a measly 4 lbs (so far- there is still time!)

Starting weight: 224
Last Week: 195.6
This week 193.6
Loss: 2
Total loss: 30.4

WOOHOO, RHena! -- Way to go! 2 pounds is great!

I think the Ref should put you in charge of naming the July 4 race. As I recall, you came up with the idea of the St. Paddy's race, which has sure helped me a lot.

A group grope? Better hope The Chimp didn't see that.:p

As for Superbob, he was enlisted by grandkids this morning to make "Pop-Pop Pancakes." I guess one should not shy away from such a call, given that it is probably one thing I'll be remembered for long after I am gone. :) Not exactly one of my "green-light" foods, but what the heck -- they were good!

(I know Bina was suggesting eating just one little bag of trail mix a day, and I appreciate the suggestion, Bina. Just saying Superbob's willpower is not so strong when he starts munching -- may have to revert to celery. :( )

Well, it's going to be a busy calorie-burning spring. My son has signed up Supergranddaughter for BOTH soccer and baseball, and Supergrandson, soon to be 4, for t-ball. I think my son is supposed to coach at least one of those teams. Given his work schedule, I can predict now who is going to be brought out of retirement to pinch-hit as a coach.

Thanks for the woohoo SB! I kind of messed up today - couldn't help myself from indulging in some buttered popcorn. (But at least it wasn't Bic Macs and milkshakes like someone else who shall remain nameless!) A name for the July 4th race - me? What a responsibility!:p But I am never one without an opinion. I'll think on it. The rest of you out there chime in suggestions - please! Actually the St. Paddy's race started with Art's challenge to Cooker... I just thought it was such a good idea we should all join in. It's looking a whole lot like Cooker is going to win that one. I forget what Art was supposed to send him, but I think it was food. ;) That'd give the rest of us an edge for the race to July 4th.:D

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. Spring has sprung here - gorgeous weather this weekend. Soon it will be wildflower season. My favorite time of year in Texas.

Later all!

Encore performance for Pop-Pop Pancakes this morning, plus DW has announced she wants to go out for dinner tonight.

What's a poor Superhero to do? :p

Eat!!!! ..... Dieting for TheChimp is not sure thing right now ... no chance in the St Patty's Day challenge ... I hear a peanut butter and banana sandwich calling my name....

So Superbob took DW to a nice seafood restaurant and got broiled sea scallops, house salad with low-fat dressing on the side, and a baked potato with a little butter on the side. He let DW have the house specialty -- the huge cinammon rolls and in fact she ordered a bag of them to go -- for her. Since scallops are 35 cals per, Superbob figures he consumed well short of The Chimp
s Big Mac feast and SB is still in the running for St. Paddy's honors.

Such steely restraint there superhero. You really are able to leap over high calorie menu items! Good choices and they sound good to boot.

She's BACK! 3 days of agility trials and a case of the crud have enabled me to drop over 2 lbs this week. I love it when WW online fusses at me for losing too much too quickly. Like that will stay off, Not!

Jet got "downed" and heeled out of the ring 3 times for misbehavior this weekend, had 3 runs where she worked well but knocked jumps, and 2Qualifying runs, including finishing her Open Standard title with a perfect score. Now she has to play with the big dogs and be PERFECT in that class forever after. We can't make much progress with all the bad weather and no training time, so I'm done with the trials until the autumn season, and will work on that perfection issue.
