ThrowDown Friday the 13th:eek: ... how fitting as my boding has been taken over by an alien from the planet Binge:rolleyes: ... I hope everyone has had a good week and some success in dropping a pound or two or six ... As far as I’m concerned it has been a great week due to SuperBob’s report that all is well ... I was going to blame my eating on feeling sorry for myself for getting run over but I will now blame it on celebrating Bob’s report ... Chimps are famous and good at passing the buck:p ... Up five:rolleyes:

Starting weight..........233
Last Week ..................190
This week.....................195
Total Loss ....................38

The alien from the planet Binge, I suspect, arrived via the spaceship V.A.N.

Hope the coming week is a better one for the chimp!

I don't wanna talk about it. I'm fighting 5 pounds that have crept on since my birthday in August. I'm behaving, but it's not helping.

Will The Throwdown accept back a wayward Superbob? We once had that lady Ref to make such calls, but I assume The Chimp himself is now the supreme controlling authority. :p

Superbob claims stress as the cause of overeating, but he can barely squeeze into his outfit when he shifts from his Clark Kent persona now. Was not only overeating but cutting back on exercise for fear of having an aneurysm burst -- so now need to increase exercise too.

Only positive note is that SB weighs about what he did when he finished cardiac rehab in '05, but that is not good enough.

SB hereby pledges to lose 5 pounds between now and start of 2010. Then he will see how that squares with his New Year's pledge to lose 20 in 2009. The math won't work out, however he needs a goal he can meet in order to have positive motivation going into 2010. (First there is leftover birthday cake -- the grandkids can finish some of it, but SB and DW will deal with rest. Then SB will confront the scales.

You can always freeze the cake . . . :p You gotta keep working to stay trim and svelte so you can enjoy years and years of fun and frolic!;)

Tom, I think the doctor telling you not to worry about losing anymore weight lulled you into a false sense of security. It would me!:eek: You'll have a better week, I'm sure.:)

AgilityDog, I've gained five pounds since my birthday, so I understand what you're saying. ;)

Freeze Birthday Cake:eek: .... Blasphemy:D

I've decided that 50 is a big time bomb where your body goes to H*ll in a handbasket.

At least I won't eat all weekend - Jet and I have a 3 day agility trial, and I'm usually too nervous to get in more than a little snack just to take my noon pills.

Superbob, you can throw away excess birthday cake too!

Laurie, if it's any comfort, post-60 was my timebomb. Before then had never spent a day in the hospital, never had any heart, back, knee, blood sugar, etc etc ailments.

I will ask The Chimp for an advisory opinion on whether it is ever in order to throw away birthday cake you just picked up a day before from the finest bakery in SOuth Carolina. I think I know what his answer will be. :p

I weighed under protest; my brain said, "Don't do it". Of course I rarely follow its advice, so I stepped on the scales . . . . my brain then said, "Told you so!":eek::eek:

I weighed 155 this morning.
Last week I weighed 154.2
Gained almost a pound

Brains are overrated anyway!

You'll rebound in no time!

If slow and steady wins the race, then we're winning. A small loss is certainly preferable to no loss!

I am late checking in this week, I've been down for the count for the last two days with a nasty cold and severe bronchitis bordering on pneumonia. Nebulizer treatments, Steroids, inhalers, antibiotics, the whole works. I'm starting to feel better today. I think I was so sick of Dr.'s ,I put off going for too long - bad mistake. It's not the dreaded swine flu anyway.

Needless to say the only things that tasted good to me and relieved my scratchy throat were mikshakes and blue bell chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream, along with an occasional hot tea with a healthy jigger of the pride of Barbados- Mont Gay Rum.

Looks like Cindy and Wise are the winners this week - or should I say losers. Good for you!!!!!:):D:). The rest of us better get with the program and now!:p:p The holidays are coming and time is a ticking. I am going to make a vow this week to exercise my resistance muscle daily - who is going to join me??? Put as much distance as you can between yourselves and the empty calorie foods. Exercise just a bit more than you normally do. We can still pull this ship back upright!

For those of you who are doing all the right things and still not seeing progress, I feel for you! I've been there too many times to count. Yes 50 Sucks when it comes to your metabolism. Just keep at it, maybe try switching some things around - a little more exercise - a little more calories - if you been restricting yourself too much, a little less if not. Drink more water. You have to do something to shake your body up. If you've been doing the same thing over and over for too long, your very efficient human body learns to adjust.

And as for me? The only exercising I've done the last few days is to exercise my right to keep the scales hidden in the corner this week. I promise to pull them out next week & do better. I'm not going to let this bronchitis totally derail my momentum. Not this time.

How was that for a pep talk? May we all post a loss next week!!!

I have been AWOL and in denial etc etc...but still thinking of you guys and gals here owning up to your weak moments on the scales and in the fridge or bakery...

I hereby confess that I have taken quite an unfortunate liking to the custard slices and pies at our local prize-winning bakery...now I know why they won 1st prize! shameful I know but I am pledging to stop treating myself and the kids daily and going to allow this as a special Friday or Saturday treat only.

Hi Ton -- great to see you back here! Must admit, I have been AWOL from the scales too. Will try to muster the courage to get on them this week. :) Hey, bakeries are one of the greatest parts of life's bounty. A once a week visit as a treat sounds delicious. :) I went to a World Market yesterday that had scones in all sorts of exotic flavors for sale. Yum! I didn't buy any but I am thinking about them:D

I'll take it as a victory. No gain this week!:) This week I'm going for an actual loss. It has been a little crazy around here this week although I did have some great time with my grandchildren.

Aussiegal, I have found this is a very forgiving bunch otherwise I would have been thrown out of the throwdown.

Txwildflower, my husband is in your state spending a few days with his brother. I've had a throat like yours and am happy to have a couple of days to vegetate.

Wise, you and Cindy are my examples of stick-with-it-ness.(somehow I doubt that that is a word but you know what I mean.

Cooker, the great news about Superbob made this a great week for me too! It is a real cause to celebrate.

Mary, don't you hate it when your brain tricks you like that!

Everyone have a great week and keep those snacks healthy or if not healthy, then few.

Good going Betty!

Glad to see you back, Ton.

As for me, I have been up since 5 am, and I have eaten 3 cinnamon biscuits.
Nothing else, but three cinnamon biscuits.
My desire for Danish knows no bounds; it is unstoppable.

Where's Superbob when I need him?:confused::eek:

Jet and I had a fun, active weekend. She qualified 3 out of 8 runs (average is 1 out of 5), and finished a Novice title.

My only complaint is myself: I messed up 3 runs with stupid mistakes, then, on our last run, I ran out of air on the backstretch. I couldn't keep up, and couldn't holler out where Jet was to go next. Poor Jet couldn't finish the course by herself, but she sure tried!

Sometimes this leaky aortic valve interferes with what I want to do, dang it, especially when it is hot and humid.

And I lost 2 pounds....Now if they will just stay lost....
