I would gladly add another year to my age (after all what's another one, given that there are so many?) in exchange for a visit to that exquisite bakery to buy another cake. (How about a carrot cake -- that's bound to be low-cal, right? :p ( But I suppose the Duffster would veto this, even as she licks cinnamon bun icing off her lips. :p:p

Cindy's mother makes the best homemade carrot cake I have ever eaten. She makes them for every birthday in the family, for Thanksgiving and for Christmas.

In my next life I want to work in an exquisite bakery as a taste tester!

Good to see some old friends back with us ... I have been a bit quiet but all is pretty much ok ... just when I think I am on the mend I have a bad day and when I get home I shower, take some meds and crash ... I have not been a very good vr or throwdown guy as of late but hope to be back on track soon ... the whack took more out of me than I first thought .... I am back on plan and trying to really watch what I eat ... I can only take comfort in food for so long before the old pants start getting snug ... keep up the good work ... peace out:cool:

Cooker you are and always will be a great inspiration!!!!! Let yourself mend and in the meantime cut yourself some slack.... (no I didn't say cut your slacks...). You'll get back on track soon.

Me too I hope. This bronchitis has kicked my butt making me just want to go home and go to bed and not cook or plan my meals as I'm supposed to be doing. I'm doing the best I can until I'm well again and that's all I can do and you can't fault yourself for that.

Take care of the chimp...

Two Pounds! Yippeee!

Two Pounds! Yippeee!

Jet and I had a fun, active weekend. She qualified 3 out of 8 runs (average is 1 out of 5), and finished a Novice title.

My only complaint is myself: I messed up 3 runs with stupid mistakes, then, on our last run, I ran out of air on the backstretch. I couldn't keep up, and couldn't holler out where Jet was to go next. Poor Jet couldn't finish the course by herself, but she sure tried!

Sometimes this leaky aortic valve interferes with what I want to do, dang it, especially when it is hot and humid.

And I lost 2 pounds....Now if they will just stay lost....

Good job! Sounds like impressive stats to me so CONGRATULATIONS to you and Jet. Sorry your valve slowed you down - better luck next time. May those hard fought two pounds be lost forever!:)

Taking care of yourself and letting your body heal from being mowed down is priority! Losing weight is second to that for sure. Hope you feel better soon.

BTW, I like the latest avatar. Funny!

Good gracious, Cooker. If you are still in recovery from nearly getting run over, maybe your body is trying to tell you something. Maybe you need to concentrate on getting well-rounded nutrients, and not on losing weight right now. I know you are very conscientious about this Throwdown, but this is just my thought, Maybe I am just all wet (I try to stay all wet, in fact, esp in bikini season. :p ) Anyway, it is just my thought. Take care!
