I am slowly losing those mountain pounds ... Down 2.5 this week and it is only due to watching what I eat ... I have cut way back on sweets and those Chick-Fil-A milk shakes that I love so much:eek: ... if anyone ever comes up with a banana pudding shake I’m finished:eek: ... I have a goal of getting down to 180 by 1-1-2010, I don’t know why I set these goals when Thanksgiving and Christmas are right around the corner ... maybe it’s a built in subliminal excuse:rolleyes: .... Hope everyone has had a losing week but whatever the case if we don’t quit we will make goal, eventually:)

Starting weight..........233
Last Week ..................196.5
This week.....................194
Total Loss ....................39

Do I have "chimp permission" to resurrect this thread starter during the holiday throwdowns? I think you'll need a reminder that you're headed for 180 when Thanksgiving and Christmas roll around.;)
Nah, never mind.
I don't need your permission:p, so be prepared! (and don't go N/A when I do:p)

It would appear that the gauntlet has been thrown at the feet of TheChimp ... careful you don’t catch any of those 14 pounds I “WILL” shed by New Years Day:p

Okay, I'm going out on a limb today. I'm posting my weight again. It is almost 20 pounds up from my low weight. However, it is beginning to go down and I'm all the way back on track. Tomorrow we are REALLY returning to WW.

I'm starting with last weeks weight and going from there.

Last Week: 195.6
This Week: 193.6
Loss: -2.00

There. It's done.

Great job!! ... You can do it ... "fight the good fight":)

Well in life you have Winners and Losers and today I am neither!!! Good for you who are both today - Wise and Mr. Chimp. I have neither won nor lost - but I am still putting up the fight and I guess that is what matters. I didn't even eat any pralines like Duffey - I didn't eat anything I wasn't supposed to and did all my walking and Curves workouts and everything. Can you tell I'm frustrated with the whole damn thing? :p

Now if I took yesterday's weight - I could report a 1 lb loss for the week, but no... my offiical weigh-in day is today and for some reason that lb. came back today. So I just stayed the same..... bummer!:(

Good for you Cooker for setting a goal for the New Year! That is the best way to get your mind set for staying on track for the upcoming holidays AND I'm betting you can do it! If I were feeling more optimistic today, I'd join you in the challenge. Maybe if I can see some progress next week I'll throwdown my own personal goal for what I think I can realistically lose between then and the New Year. If you asked me today I"d say maybe 5 lbs :p:mad:

Hope everyone else had a good week and hopefully next week will be even better!

Just weighed; didn't lose; no big surprise.;)
Two weeks ago I weighed in at 152.6
Today weight is 154.2
Gain of 1.6 pounds
Tomorrow is another day!:p

1.6 isn't too bad. Especially after such delicious pralines!

You'll be back on the losers list before long.

Same weigh in as last week...ugh the dreaded plateau. If only I was a chimp!

You said it sister!! The diet I'm trying (Curves complete) has a phase of their plan to 'reset' your metabolism. Eating more actually increases your metabolism. Essentially you eat normal (healthy I mean... maybe not normal) :) - like 2000 to 2500 calories per day and let yourself gain up to a set high weight - like 3 to 5 lbs higher than when you started. Then immediately go back on their phase 1 diet (more like 1200 calories max /day) until you lose the 3 to 5 lbs, (maybe 3 to 4 days) then repeat that whole process for 2 to 4 weeks. Then you go back through their phase 1 (1 week) phase 2 ( 3 weeks approx 1500 calories) and then do Phase 3 again until you reach goal, where basically phase 3 is maintenance. Or you can go to phase 3 anytime you hit a plateau. In theory each time you get to phase 3 it should take you longer to gain that 3 to 5 lbs as your body adjusts to eating what it should. The other premise of this is that the body is very efficient, if you keep restricting it calories for too long - it learns how to shut down and live on that small amount.

It sounds counter-intuitive to me to gain weight to then start really losing weight again. I am interested to see if this supposedly well researched approach works so I'm really going to follow it to the letter. I'll start it in about a week, so you may be seeing me posting gains for awhile! :D Maybe I can squeeze in a Margarita.. with some of those extra calories.

Cindy and I went back to Weight Watchers this morning. We signed up for the monthly pass last night.

Cindy wants to report her starting weight, which is 140.8. Her goal is to lose thirteen pounds.

I weighed, with my clothes on, at 194.2, which is just over a 1/2 pound more than I did yesterday au naturelle. So, I will report our losses on Saturday mornings and go with our official WW meeting weigh-in.

Best wishes Rhena on your new diet plan. Let us know how it is going!
