Top of the morning to you! ... It seems like the masses have voted to post this weeks and the Saint Patrick's Day Challenge results today and all though this ThrowDown is not a democracy I will yield to the wishes of the many:p ... I will report a 2 pound loss for the Saint Patrick's Day Challenge and a 1 pound gain for the week ... I would have loved to walk away with this hands down but once again my battleship mouth wrote a check my rowboat ass can't cover:D ... I am glad that overall I seem to be stable (weight wise) even though I have been taking liberties with processed sugar in any form I could get my furry hands on for the last few days ....

I guess we start the sprint to Independence Day today ... wishing everyone success and health...

(this weeks results)
Starting Weight: ...233
Last Week: ...............189
This week: ................190
Total Loss: ..................43

Superbob is proud to report another 1 pound loss this week in the great Race to Saint Paddy's Day!

Superbob's total loss from New Year's Day to Saint Paddy's Day: 11 pounds.

Superbob will celebrate with the traditional corned beef, cabbage, potatoes, and green beer later today. Then he looks forward to starting the Great Red, White, and Blue Race to Independence Day. :)

Outstanding! ... You may take the cake, er, corned beef...

Congratulations, Superbob! Forget the Irish label; I'll kiss you for a job well done!

Today's weight is 156 (same as last week). Starting weight for the STDTD was 157 pounds, so I lost one for the competition.

I predict I will be down 10 by July 4th . . . . ok, make it 15.

I started the year at 134.4, and today am 131.5 - just shy of a 3 lb loss for this maintenance dieter!

I'm having roast pork and steamed cabbage with potatos for dinner. Yummo.

Top of the afternoon to you! I'm late, but the boss just left so my first chance to log in without gettin' caught! (They really aren't that strict, but don't want to get caught too often!)

Superbob has left us all in the dust me thinks! Agility Dog - BRAVO! On maintenance that is tough.

OK - sad news is I'm up .2 from last week as of this writing. Only one bowl of buttered popcorn - com'on! Not fair! Duffey, I don't think I have found the secret yet to getting past a plateau. I'm right there with you, but I"m still working on it.

My contribution to the St. Paddy's day race 3.4 lbs.

By my count - we have a sub-total of 20.4 lbs lost amongst the 5 of us reporting so far. Not sure who all else we are expecting. OK - that could be about the weight of a small toddler couldn't it? SB lost 54% of that - the clear winner and without him we'd look like a bunch of losers... I mean real losers. :p

In reality though we are all winners because just imagine where we would all be had we not even tried!

Onwards and downwards to the Great Red White & Blue Race to Independence Day as per SuperBob - a mighty fine name. For short it could be called the Firecracker 109 (Number of days between 3/17 and 7/4).

SuperBob - I guess all you win for your efforts is bragging rights, a kiss from Duffey, a big hug from me, and your traditional Irish dinner. Plus the feeling of being 11lbs lighter - priceless! Well done!

I'm going to give you some stiff competiion coming up Get ready for it!;)

All losses for the year so far!

Cindy and I each lost 3 pounds from the beginning of the year. That's better than gaining it. I've struggled as of late, but am getting back on track. I haven't been OFF plan, just have had too many extra points (then again, maybe that IS off plan).

Congrats Superbob. And 11 pound loss in that time span is fantastic, even for a superhero.

Yeah Wise and Cindy!!! Great contribution and pretty much in line with everyone else - except for our resident superhero who is obviously an overachiever. :p Subtotal now is 26.4 pounds! Sounding better & better! Oh, and by the way Wise - if you are counting points - you are in program - even if they are more than they should be. That's my theory anyway.

Great job everyone ... I need to get with the program because I have been and am still sugar binging  .... not sure why, just can't seem to get off the fast upward bound train ... SB, send me some super power!!!!

No big deal. I've gotten used to it. In order to access any of the Throwdown threads, I have to click on the poster's name when I open "new posts" on the forums page. Then, in their profile page, I select "all posts" and I find that thread in their list and hit the little arrow for last post. Then, shazaam, I'm in. I've gotten used to it and it has become routine. Why it happens, I don't know. As long as I can get in is all that matters! : ) : ) : )

I know I'm a day late for posting my grand total but it is a 2 lb. total loss. It isn't much but I will try to do better on this next leg. The weight is actually from this AM. Yesterday I woke up with a lot of edema that would have done nothing for my disposition if I would have stepped on the scales. It is just part of my life so today's will have to do. Does that make our grand total 28.4 lbs?

This throwdown has actually helped me quite a bit the last few months and it sure is nice to be traveling through life with you all!

That's great, Betty! Congrats also to Rhena, Wise & Cindy, Duffey, Laurie, and of course the one and only lardmaster, The Chimp! (If I forgot anyone, just mark it down as a supersenior moment. )

We have a good core team going ahead for The Fourth. Superbob has celebrated St. Paddy's Day in grand style with ale and vittles and now will focus on the new challenge. Losing the post-Christmas gain was the easy part; now comes the real challenge.

Since the original start of the Throwdown, SB is down a net of 20 pounds, with 11 of that in these first months of 2010. Everything is on track (knock on wood!) for a closing on SB's and Mrs. SB's Virginia home -- finally! -- on the 31st, so that should relieve some stress and should help. Yes, SB will leave SC to go hike the Appalachian Trail one more time before returning to Grand Strand beach patrol for good. ;)

Congratulations all you LOSERS!

I bought a new snack at the store today, and I think I'm in LOVE!

Try the Special K Fruit Crisps, I bought the strawberry, and see if you like them. I think they're fairly substantial for a 100 calorie treat.

Thanks for the tip Duffster.. I might just have to check those out! I love strawberries. Betty good job - I think we all contributed something and that's the good news for all of us. Yes that makes the grand total 28.4 lbs. Yeah for us! Defnitely the size of a small toddler or a big dog. ;)

Had I weighted to weigh (pun intended) until today - I would have been able to contribue another 1.2 lbs - but I'll just get to add thatt to the Firecracker 109 race total now won't I.

SB you've done so well!. Glad you got your house sold - no easy feat in today's economy - even for someone with superpowers.

Cooker - step away from the sugar or I'm going to have to sic the Duffmeister on you! :p Sugar is addicting that is why it so hard to stop - you gotta go through withdrawals for just a few days and then you'll be back on track. As the famous slogan goes - Just Do It! You worked too hard to get it off to blow it now. You kicked the nicotine gum so I know you can kick the sugar cravings too. (I 'm still chewing by the way, so I have no room to talk about addictions actually! )

Later losers...

:
It worked fine for me Cookster.

Yeah, just like the programmers I work with - I report a problem, they fix it without telling me and then come tell me they can't recreate it! Trying to make me think I'm nuts! :D Sneaky little devils. Anyway, good news is that it does appear to be resolved now, but it was there yesterday and had been there for a good while. Thanks for fixing it Hank and for all you do on the forum... it is appreciated!

I bought a new snack the other day that Tom loves and is very tasty. It is the Quaker Oats Mini Delights in the Chocolatey Mint flavor. They are similar to mini rice cakes but more like a cookie with a chocolate mint frosting drizzled over the top. Do you have to bake the fruit crisps or are they like a cookie too?
