I have had my thyroid checked many many times. I wish it were something that is treatable. I've had my minerals and vitamins checked all the time as well.

I need to vent. I'm having a bad day. My cardiologist increased my sotalol because of some break through a-fib and with my increased dose I had a few moments of a-fib in rehab today. On my way home I'd go into bigamy and trigamy and get dizzy. I got home and laid on the floor as some as I got in the door. I had to have a good cry. I thought I was past this because I don't feel the a-fib and so thought I'd be off the sotalol soon and I would then have less PVCs. This is so frustrating.

Okay I just got off the phone with my cardiologist that I like and trust, she said to not increase the sotalol and add atenolol. That sounds better. Hopefully that will relieve me of some pvcs.

Thanks Penny, I'll try taking atenolol tomorrow, I have school today and already missed this class last week so I didn't want to mess around with adding on drugs today. How have you been.?

So 12.5 mg of atenolol have made the PVCs less noticeable and I feel a little calmer, but.. Dizzy and tired. But I was expecting that. I'll take a bit dizzy and tired over anxiety and PVCs. It almost seems too soon and I'll jinx it but I know I could increase the dosage if needed. I'm still on Sotalol for a-fib.

Yeah I have low bp and my heart rate is very sensitive to beta blockers. My heart rate was 80 bpm and 12.5 mg of atenolol had it down to 60 bpm. She told me to take 25 mg but from past experience I can usually only handle half of the lowest normal dose.

Could the key be to ignore them? If you have checked with the doctor and he determines they are benign, i think that ignoring them actually could help as crazy as that sounds. I have them still after surgery, but they don't bother me as much. I notice that whenever i get stressed over them it makes them way worse.

At my last visit with my cardiologist, he asked me to stop listening to them and ignore them unless they affect me and become bothersome!
Luckily for me, the lower dose of thyroid medication took care of them.

Good luck to you.

[Michelle, I am very sensitive to medications too. Yet, my HR rate only drops about 5 beats/min.

Do you know if you are hypoglycemic?! I was going through my notes yesterday and I have written down that one time after I had sweets, I felt much better and surprisingly, my PVCs were less. It could have been a co-incidence. Anyhow, I hope mine won't return, but if I will ever sense them, I am going to try the sweet tooth treatment and see. I am not hypoglycemic.

Hope you get rid of them.
