What a nice family Bill has. Bill, his wife, and daughter made it over around 6:30PM and we spent some time on the deck. It was close to 80 today and the dogwoods and azeleas were blooming in my parent's back yard. My dog Abby and Bill's daughter hit it off right off the bat and had a great time together. We had a wonderful dinner that my Mom prepared and then chatted over coffee and cheesecake. We got some great pictures that my Mom and Bill's wife took. I've had trouble posting pictures from my Mom's computer in the past, so if I can't get them to post, Bill will post some when they get back from their vacation. This site and the people on it continue to amaze me!

:)

Bryan don't use the img button when the picture is on the computer. Just come a little farther down then this reply box and you'll see "attach files" and a button that says manage attachments. Click it and then browse the computer for the location of the picture then upload it to the server.

The only time you can use the other method is if you have the pictures already uploaded to another server such as free space from your ISP or the like.

You had the right idea, just going about it the wrong way. :)

I'm going to try and upload a couple of pictures of me and Bill. Let me know if you can view them. If you can see them but they are too big let me know...I have them resized smaller but the quality is not as good.

Those goblets had water in them. If you noticed in the picture of me and Bill showing off our scars, you can see his "empty" wine glass. :D

I quit drinking 14 years ago so I didn't partake in the wine. ;)

Bryan has a face!!

Bryan has a face!!

Thanks for the pictures. It?s always such fun to see our fellow heart buddies having a good time together.

Isn?t it funny how we all get that big grin on our faces when showing off our scars?!! LOL :D I just love it!

Can I put a copy of the picture in my vr.com photo album??

Nice scars.

I'm glad there wasn't a third picture. It seemed as if they were "progressing"!

Sure, that's fine by me. I also have some photos of his wife and his daughter playing with my dog Abby, but I thought I should let Bill decide whether or not to post those. These pictures were mostly proof that I indeed do not look like a poodle...well...maybe a little. :D

Karlynn,

I promise it stopped there. :D

I was sober and Bill only had 2 glasses of wine, so we decided not to compare cath scars...LMAO! :D :D :D

Looks like ya'll had an awesome time :).

Heh...and that is what this is all about. From the "oldie but goodie" thread reminiscing about how this group started (I'm a young member, in more ways than one, apparently...LOL) to actually meeting people in person at VR.com reunions and during "road trips", which is why I post when I go anywhere...ya never know who you might be able to meet...and how it may enrich you!

Cort,

I hope it works out that we can meet the next time you come to Nashville. It really is fun to meet the people who you talk to here on a regular basis.

How wonderful that Bill and Bryan were able to meet face to face. Did you meet in TN? If so, that means Bill is not only doing allot of walking, he is traveling. Wow!
Love the photos. It is always nice to put a face (and a scar) with a name.

We actually met in NC. I grew up in Cary, NC just outside of Raleigh and have lived here most of my life. I moved to Nashvile about 2 years ago for a job, but I came home to have my surgery at Duke. Bill, his wife and his daughter were spending spring break by driving all around NC and VA. They flew into RDU which is about 20 minutes from my parents house. They checked into their hotel and then came over.

It was an enjoyable time, one of many more I hope to have with others on this site. :)

You both look just as ornery as I figure you both are! It's great that you guys got together and were able to do this.

Bryan,

I hope so, too! I've met many people from various message boards...and, each time, it has enhanced the experience of sharing experiences, stories, etc., on the board ;). It is ssssooo cool to meet people in person :).

BTW, it looks now that I'll be in Nashville late afternoon/early evening Sunday, June 13, heading for Big Sandy TN early/late afternoon Monday, June 14.

Cort,

I think I should be around for those dates. We can either do dinner on the 13th or lunch on the 14th. Just keep me udpated as the trip gets closer and we'll make some definite plans.

BB

Bryan,

Sounds good. I'm _guessing_ lunch on Monday might be a better bet, but I'm not sure right now. I do know that I'll be driving to Nashville from Bowling Green KY (where the Monte Carlo Nationals will be held June 11-13) sometime Sunday afternoon...kinda depends when everyone "takes off" after the awards ceremony late Sunday morning.

But, we got a couple months to iron out the details ;).

Ok...If memory serves me correctly....isn't this about the second or third photo we have had on this board with Bill and his bare chest????

Perhaps we have a "flasher" in our midst??!!! ;) :D

Mommy3-

I'm no flasher, but Bryan's Mom asked so NICELY that I just had to do it, especially after she went to all that trouble to cook a wonderful meal for three complete strangers. I will post more about our trip and the great visit with Bryan and his folks elsewhere. We had a great time, and it was fun to meet Bryan in person. I feel like I know so many of you, and want everyone to know that they're welcome to stop in if they're ever in my area.
