Brilliant!

Awesome!

Fantastic!

...These words do not even begin to describe what an incredible concert this was!

At 57, Bowie is still an awesome presence on stage and the quality of his voice is beyond belief. Even without the glitz and glam of the Ziggy Stardust days, this was an experience nothing short of SPECTACULAR!!

I'll be on a high for days :D :D :D

Diamond Dog

Diamond Dog

What memories. I saw Bowie at the height of his Ziggy Stardust splendor in 1972 or 3 at Winterland in San Francisco. The whole place only held about 3,000 people and it was not 100% filled. Costume changes, Mick Ronson and all the glitz, it was an amazing show.

Glad to hear he can still rock it up !!

WHAM BAM THANK YOU M'AM !!!!

You'd think being banished from the bog of eternal stench would be a good thing, but nosiree! Nuh-uh.

**blowing the dust off my copy of Labrynth**

Old dudes...

Old dudes...

Ah, nobody sings or puts on a show like the 'Old Dudes.' Willie Nelson - age 70, Rod Stewart age 60+, Mick Lips...:D

Back in the days when music was real... Give us some more names folks!

I'm envious too Anna -- you lucky little ducky!

Here's a few for you...

I saw these live in the heydays, often in small venues in L.A.

Jackson Browne, The Eagles, Linda Rondstadt, Jimmy Buffet, Joni Mitchell, Elton John

Deep Purple, Boston, Bad Company

More recently, Chris Isaak, Jonathon Richman.

It makes me feel old to say it, but I listen to a lot of the current music (I've got a 19 year old son), and I think that most of it just doesn't measure up.

Anna,

I'm so envious that you got to see Bowie. I bet you'll be humming tunes for weeks! ;)

Well.........

Well.........

...There's only ONE name that hasn't been mentioned...

JERRY-LEE LEWIS

He taught them all how to do it...

Cheers,

Billy, you are so right!

I saw Jerry Lee Lewis when he opened for X at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in '86 or '87. What a strange combination of music, but they both rocked!

Hey Bill - you're just rockin' right along yourself!! So glad to see you back amongst us so soon :) I've gotta agree - I really don't get today's music.

OMIGOD.... I must be......... OLD!!!!!!! *..gasp..*

The last concert I saw was the Skyhooks in the early 90's, but it wasn't anywhere near as amazing as Bowie (..but then I guess I've always considered him as some kind of God!..).

Music? You call this stuff we have today Music?

Billy, the best band to ever play meaning-full contemporary rock music came out of your beautiful Ireland ... U2 .... Totally awesome. They rule, and have helped change the world for 'good'.

Begorrah Mark....

Begorrah Mark....

...you never spoke a truer word, but I suppose when we have them here 'on the doorstep' we just never think to fully appreciate them.

Being a little older, I am still The Killer's #1 fan.

Long live Jerry-Lee and his 'impersonator' Jason D. Williams

Cheers,

Hey, all this talk of musci from the "old days" makes me miss concert-going. I used to go to so many, but now job, family and location away from the big city makes it a lot harder. I did catch an amazing double-header two years ago, with the B-52s (didn't sit down for the whole show) and Chryssie Hynd.

Ross,

I have to agree with you with a lot of what's out there just doesn't meet my definition of music. I guess that makes me an old fogey even though I haven't broken 50 yet, but I don't get that stuff. I am not a prude and always glorified in bands being able to say whatever they wanted, lyric-wise, but some of the stuff out there now is just rude, crude and wrong. I listen to my son's CDs and have to constantly say to him- "Did they just say what I think they said?" Such a poor example for young people to follow.

Well, whenever you despair of music just think:

THE BOSS!!!!

Springsteen is alive and well.

My wife and I got tickets to see Elton John and Billy Joel several weeks before they were scheduled to play in Buffalo last year. Then I got the date for my surgery which was two days after the show.

By the time the show came up I was too sick to go, but I INSISTED that Erica took someone else with her because I knew she needed a break from everything that was going on, plus she LOVED Billy Joel.

Two days later I was in a coma fighting for my life....

But I got better.

Exactly Bill. I came home one day to hear this stuff blaring out of my house. My youngest was listening to it. After I myself listened to it, I can see why kids are depressed, angry, and just about every other vile thing you can think of today. I'm sorry but there is no need for any of the lyrics (If you can even call them that) to be recorded and distributed throughout the U.S. I'm ashamed of the record companies. .....And the RIAA can't figure out what's wrong with sales?
