"Gina, watch out for the ice! I too am a clutz on any ice. I just went and bought some boots that are suppose to be skid free. So far so good! We'll see."

Hey, where can we get boots with spike grips? ;)

Lorraine, I have never been so cold in my life! I guess living in the South is a 'good thing' for Coumarians. I have most of the fleece section in my Lands End catalog earmarked as a subtle hint for Christmas. :D

Hey all! I haven't been around but am still doing well!

Anyway, I read somewhere that Coumadin does something to your circulation which can cause you to be cold, particularly the extremities. As I sit here in my heated house, wearing socks and shoes, my feet are cold. They always are! I'm getting used to it.

Hi Joy

Hi Joy

I was a person who was always hot until surgery and coumadin.

I wore short sleeve shirts in the winter and I own a lot of cotton clothes, (they let the heat out)

Now I wear a multitide of layers, at least 3 or more, and to go outside, I wear 2 scarfs, 3 hats, one of them is a hood, and this fleece lined parka of a jacket, very warm, it's been sitting in my closet unworn until this year.

I'm looking forward to summer this year, the past summer was a killer as far as the heat was concern, but now I'll probably enjoy it a lot more.

I was hoping we would adjust to the coumadin and become our old selves, but I guess it's hard for that thin blood to carry much heat around

White finger

White finger

Several times this winter, it appears that all the blood has drained out of the middle finger on my right hand. I suppose this usually happens when I'm driving, nervous in the winter weather. It takes some time of flexing my fingers to get the blood to flow back in again.
Does anyone else have this?

Jim,

I think that problem is common in California, but it is the left hand more than the right. I think is is from giving directions to other drivers in a "friendly" manner while waving the left arm out the window.

Being a minister and living in my beloved Michigan, I am sure your right hand problem is not at all like our California brethren.

Have not noticed any real changes to speak of since taking the warfarin.

Best to y'all
