My blood pressure has always been around 120/80 give or take just a little I have never had high blood pressure. But I am on toprol for what ever reason? When they doubled my dose it went down to aroun 100 on the top and I couldnt even move.

Yes, Nancy....I am still here. I was lurking a little this morning and then I laid down since I felt tired (LOL, like that is something new)
I have a really hard time when I wake up. I was wondering if this is just me or if anyone else has experienced this. When I wake up I am sweating like a pig, my pulse is high (ex.-few minutes ago when I woke up it was 109), my arms and feet feel like lead, and it is hard to think. My arms and legs aren't numb like they are asleep....they just feel way heavier than they should....like it takes more energy than I have to move them. These are some of the kinds of things that I find it hard to explain to my doctor.
That gives me an idea...I should start writing these things down and give the paper to the doc. I journal my BP, pulse, arrythmias, weight (because that is an issue...I am underweight), and major things like fainting but I haven't written down any of the other things. Maybe I need to reclassify what I consider to be important. What do you think?
Lori

Yes, yes, write it all down. Everything you are mentioning, including the sweating are all symptoms. Writing everything down in a journal is the best way. Try to remember to write down what you were doing when the "thing" happened too. It's also a very good idea to bring another person to the appt. with you. If you are having a little "fuzzy-headedness" along with your conditions, you might not remember to ask important questions, and might not remember the answers.

When is your appt.?

This friday I am supposed to be at the cardio's office for another echo and the holter monitor. I did the rest of the lab work already and then I have my "official" appointment with him on April 6.
My mom is taking me up there (I think she secretly was to brag to him about how well she is doing, LOL). I have already met him as he is her cardio and did her cath so I am not nervous about that part. I just don't want to forget anything which is what I usually do. I had another question....Ross had a link posted to the medicalert site. I went there and checked it out because the fainting thing really bugs me and I was afraid if I passed out while I was teaching I would have 52 first year anatomy and physiology students attempting CPR or something. LOL. Anyway, my question is this... Do you guys use that and do you use the TRAVEL PLUS thing? I was looking at that and for a $100.00 a year, it really seems worth it to me. Especially since Jerry and I are going out of the country for our honeymoon. I am still crossing my fingers that I will miraculously be rid of my symptoms before June. We're getting married June 19.
I liked the idea of being anywhere in the world and if something happened instant access to my medical condition would be available.
Lori

LoriSue,

By all means, write it down and tell your Cardio.

I would also tell him about your travel plans.

Personally, if I had your symptoms, I would want
them resolved or at least defined with some treatment plan
in place before travelling, especialy out of the country.

Hi Lori,
I am also having the "legs feeling like lead" symptom. It seems worse in the evening, to the point that it takes alot of effort to get them to move... :)

Hmm I wouldn't be surprised to hear your doctors recomend surgery once they review your echo. Your symptoms sound very suspicious..

Don't push yourself too hard until you have checked everything out.. :)

Hi Bethanne, I am sorry you are feeling the same things with your legs but I am sort of glad because now I don't feel quite so "crazy", LOL
Lori

Yes I am laughing too! My husband was looking at me very strangely yesterday and said "Why are you walking so funny".
My response, well, my legs are feeling a little heavy these days.
He doesn't know what to think about me anymore....

We are having a 16 yr anniversary friday, so I am kidnapping him tomorrow and flying to san franciso, ca. we will spend some time there with sister and some time in pacific grove. I hate to admit it but this is the first time in 9 yrs we have taken a trip without the kids...

With all of my symptoms, I am concerned about flying, I hope the altitude/cabin pressure is not an issue. As it is the plans are for a relaxing trip not a sightseeing hiking in the redwoods, surfing in the ocean kinda of trip...

I should be hearing from my cardio today regarding my stress echo last week as prep for referral to surgeon....

I hope I have concrete news before I leave on our trip...

I hope all goes well with your appointments, I don't know if I will be able to get online anywhere before I get back next Monday at midnight...

:) hmm... it looks like i have lots of "hope" in this post!
