Many Thanks to everyone on this website. The information and support that I've received from the collective experiences, hearts (pun intended) and suggestions from the VR.com family have been incredibly valuable. One suggestion that I've read is to "do something fun the last days." Tomorrow I plan on taking my two brothers and a best friend golfing. Tomorrow evening I'll be with my lovely Donna, sons Christopher and Brian, and Chris' girlfriend Jackie in downtown Chicago for a light dinner then off to a hotel that's very close to the hospital. THE LAST DAY BEFORE OHS, FUN IS GOOD!
As of this moment I'm scheduled to report to NMH at 6:45, but that time will be finalized at 2:30pm. Dr. Patrick McCarthy and I have decided on the Edwards Carpentier Bovine Valve (Perimont Magna), and the aorta will be repaired with a dacron. He stated that the surgery will last about 4-5 hours and barring any complications, I could be home in 4 days! I so look forward to that already.
AGAIN ....THANKS to EVERYONE.... I'll ask my son Christopher to post for me. Hopefully I'll be back at this home computer on Tuesday for a quick update!
