Got a call from the scheduler this morning. Dr Lytle had cancelled a trip for next week and they wanted to know if I wanted to come on March 15 for the surgery. As much as I'd like to get this behind me, that's a little too soon for me, since I have some legal things to take care of, as well as farming out my dogs to the friends who are taking care of them while I'm in hospital and at my brother's up in Columbus OH.
So, pending confirmation that Dr Griffin, the cardio is available to do the pre-op stuff, we are planning on May 10 as the big day. I know I have to go up there and meet with the team, etc. so will probably do all that on Monday and have surgery on Tuesday.
Whew! I'm ready to go now!

Carolyn,

Happy to hear your good news. It must be a relief to have something to plan for and know the waiting will soon be over.

Wave hello as you pass Cincinnati on your way to Columbus.

Best of luck.

Well it sounds like you'll have plenty to distract your mind before the big day comes! And I'm sure it will be here before you know it!!

I'll be sending positive thoughts your way.....

Carolyn,

I found it a relief to finally get a date. It made it very real and no longer theoretical. Try not to dwell on it too much and go out and have some fun between now and then. I know...easier said than done.

I did a similar thing, finishing Taxes, seeing attorney about WILL, Power of Attorney, Medical Power of Attorney, setting up savings/investments with Transfer on Death option etc. (This CAN be done fairly quickly by the way.)

Just as my surgery was coming up, I began having MORE SYMPTOMS and was even sent to the surgery hospital (100 miles away) by ambulence. I felt that I got there JUST IN TIME. I've forgotten the details of your condition, but if you are SEVERE, I would reconsider the March 15 offer.

Hi

Hi

Carolyn:
I'm glad you have a date set now. It's better for you emotionally. Did you get my response to your anxiety thread? In case you didn't, great book to pick up, it helped me a ton:
The Anxiety & Phobia Workbook, Third Edition by Edmund J. Bourne, Ph.d, you can find it at Barnes & Noble. I wish you all the best.
