What a day. YESSSSSSS. Today 1:00pm our time, I saw Ton sitting up in her bed and grinning from ear to ear. Shaking with excitement and a few tears, but she is stoked. WOW. Thank you a million times over, everyone, for your prayers/love/thoughts and support. We sure couldn't have managed without all that. I could feel it all holding me up and keeping me calm [ sometimes - the calm that is]. I printed off the emails and put them in a folder and took them in at 4:00 pm when I was allowed back in. I could only stay 3 mins the first time. It was "quiet time" - huh that hadn't bothered anyone for the past 4 days, but today?? Never mind. I was able to stay 4 hours - including the 30 mins where I had to go off and find a shop open where I could purchase a box of "icy poles" - water ice blocks. I did and then sat and fed her an orange 1. I wish I'd had 2 more hands so I could get a photo of it too. But you can't have everything. and today we got the jackpot.....
They expect to have her in the ward/private room, tomorrow afternoon probably. THEN we can take her 2 little guys up to see her. She has hardly any tubes and wires etc compared with yesterday even, and she is giving cheek and orders and asking questions and certainly knows where she if for sure. Bit dark about the "bypass" that was not on the list, but her surgeon said he'd explain it all to her tomorrow. I just hope he has the time, cos she's going to want to know it all.
Ned, her husband, and Matt her eldest son, came down here tonight as tomorrow is a public holiday and its a good chance for the 2 young ones to catch up with
Dad and hopefully see Mum tomorrow.
Thank you again to all, each and everyone. We are forever in your debt.
Good night and God Bless. Love from Tonia and Noelene XXzzXX

Wonderful news

Wonderful news

What great news to hear today. She certainly does have that fighting spirit. Seeing her boys will be quite emotional as I can remember. But possibly the best medicine mom can get right now. Best wishes
Kathleen

Grand Slam!

Wow! Sitting up, grinning, crying happy tears, and eating ice goodies --- to use the baseball term, that's a grand slam! It's the news we've all been waiting for. Bet she will quiz her doc on all that went on. We sure look forward to hearing from her again, when she feels up to it. Thanks so much for keeping us informed.

So thrilled to hear

So thrilled to hear

of Tonia's recovery. I'm SO sorry to hear of her bumps in the road - I had a few "potholes" myself after my surgery - getting taken back to the ICU - I had to have two units of blood - they almost put a pacemaker in me. SO, I know in a way what Tonia has gone through. It has been a rough road for her. BUT I do know that she now will be on the road to recovery and is surely going to be just fine.

May God continue to give her strength and His grace -

Christina L

Tonia,
Wonderful news to hear today that your recovery is moving ahead at full speed now. Our continued prayers and love are with you and your family as you head toward that home stretch. I hope you will be able to see your boys soon as that surely will give you an emotional boost!

She made me mess mine all up too. I hate when that happens. It takes me so long to get it just right too!

I have pictures, but I will not post them. If Tonia wants to do that when she's out, that's fine, but I will not post them for her. I couldn't do that to anyone.

Speaking as a professional makeup artist, I can recommend a good water-proof mascara for you. You may also want to begin using a little bronzing powder if you aren't out in the sun much now.
