As I mentioned in another thread, I had afib off and on for about the first month after my valve replacement. After that, no afib. Only occasional bouts of tachycardia, which my cardio and electrophysiologist see as no problem, since they last for seconds and I am in coordinated sinus rhythm all through it. (e.g. For each atrial pulse, there is a coordinated ventricular pulse.)
In almost all cases, this sort of thing is temporary. It is sometimes bad enough that they treat it with meds, sometimes not. Rarely is it serious enough that additional procedures are called for. I'd give them a chance to deal with it, and view it as just a bump in the road of recovery.
