I had another suspicious mole removed yesterday for biopsy. It was my third in fifteen months. The first was malignant melanoma and successfully treated. Since then, I go every three months for follow up inspection. The second biopsy in Sep was benign. Also a PET scan in Sep was normal.

This third one didn't look near as nasty as the first, but did satisfied (barely) all of the inspection criteria. ABCD
Asysemtry
Border not regular
Color not uniform
Diameter larger than 6 mm (pencil eraser)

The "shave" was done with no change in Coumadin. They use silver nitrate to help stop the bleeding. Still I'll ooze for a few days.

Results due Thursday.
Prayers appreciated.

PS........with my exercise and weight loss, I feel TERRIFIC! I'm coming up short on my weightloss objective, but am very statisfied with the progress. 35 lbs! I'll revise my goals for 2004 near New Years.

Best wishes for a good report Thursday. Also, congratulations on your "Life Plan!" Great results, and glad you feel great!

Tom,

Prayers are on the way. Also, I'm going to pray that you aren't contacted by the Department of Homeland Security for having "another suspicious mole." :)

Prayers for you, Tom

some yrs ago I discovered a colorful (purple/black/pink) spot just inside my upper arm; went to dr. He said if it's colorful, have it checked. If it's tan don't worry. He removed mine. No further ones that I have found.

Hi Tom,

Fingers crossed for the test results -- not much you can do to affect them, though.

As to new goals for 2004 -- that's OK, as long as they get you where you want to be. Great progress to have lost those 35 lbs -- I'm sure you didn't need them. The next bunch may go slower, but once you're on a program you CAN do it!
