Today we have been in the hospital 9 weeks. This a record I don't wish to repeat though I have met families here now even that have been longer.
Monday it looks like we will be having surgery to replace Andrew's ICD. We think this is the best option and so we hope that it will go well and of course that he doesn't get any new infections.
Pt is going well though it is not Andrew's favorite part of the day. I am pleased with his progress and hope he will continue to put forth the effort required to keep improving. His therapists have been great and I think they have a pretty thankless job.
We are talking about out patient options for continued pt and ot therapy. We are hoping we can avoid having to do inpatient just so he can get out of the hospital environment. He asked about going outside today so hopefully we will take a little stroll- by wheel chair- out to the court yard.
I think Andrew is a getting a little discourage and he could use your prayers. He is doing so much better but healing takes time and effort and this has got to feel like forever to him. He loves seeing his friends and I love seeing him smile!
So things are definately progressing forward. My end of July goal is very attainable barring some complication so you keep praying for him.
We did see a few fireworks on the 3rd and 4th from his floor. Andrew is so wiped out that he didn't watch long but it was neat to see. We had some visitors and that was really nice, Jon and the Hornings.
Oh Katie and Janet your package arrived and Andrew was so excited to open it. It is pretty cute and we have used it many times already. Ever seen a penguin dance to Southern Gospel? LOL!!!
Glad to hear Justin is doing better Lyn.
Well this is all my cluttered mind can think of just now.
see ya,
Wendy
