Hi Norma, that is a beautiful place. You take great pictures. You will find new beautiful places and make new memories there. We drove this year for our vacation, to Memphis, down through Mississippi to Destin, Florida, then west to New Orleans. If you've never been to Destin, it has some of the most beautiful white beaches and emerald water.

This is the first time we took a trip like this, and our first time at these locations. We stayed in Memphis for 2 days, 4 days in Florida, and then 2 days in New Orleans.

:(Norma alittle bit sad your post, but you and hubby
will find better places i hope and bet your
cat was happy to see you back and she did well without yous
So will yous do well in other gorgeous places,This is a difficult
ending to your holiday and understandable why feeling your pain

It's incredibly hard to give up a place of such beauty and so many memories. I know how I would feel. A very high price to pay for your heart problems.

You can never replace that, but maybe your next vacations become a search for something beautiful in a different way nearer ground level.

Best wishes,

Norma ... I’m so sorry ... every now and then I have something age or health related remind me I “can’t” do what I could years gone by .... it’s hard ....

Hugs,
Tom

Norma, It too made me so sad to read your post. You are strong and have come through a lot with a lot of wisdom and you will feel better as time passes and you cherish the memories that you have and realize that there are many other places that will bring you much joy without the pain. Just remember that when one door closes another opens. This is your chance to discover other amazing places that you may not have discovered otherwise. Your husband is so right, your travels are not over, they have just begun!

Thank you to all you sweet dear people!

This is the reason this forum is so endearing & important to each of us, in that we, are the ONLY ones that can truly understand each others limitations, shortcomings & frustrations, and too, the sheer wonder of being OHS survivors.

But to all you newbies, please bear in mind, that even though this mended heart cannot do the things that it was able to do before, for at least 31 years, I had a heck of a ride & I have no regrets about that! :)

......and life is NOT over until the Lord's says it's over!

you know that old saying: when one door closes, another......

I am sure you are headed for the next door. Hope you can do it with an open heart but keep all those lovely memories fresh in your mind always.

Norma,
That picture does depict a very peaceful place. I am sure you will find another favorite place, though. There are many places we visited that I enjoyed, but my favorite place is my own backyard and the trails below our house. I'm a pretty simple gal.

Norma, so sorry you have to leave the place you love so much. I know about moving, have done it 7 times! We are now where we love to live and would hate to have to leave. So sorry you are going thru this at this time.

No, no darling....we're not moving from our home. We will just not be vacationing where we used to for many years due to the high elevations.

Thank God that where we live, the elevation is approx 3900'. Now if we had to move from our home, that would be a travesty!

Here's to Norma's next fabulous place to enjoy life and nature and to start a whole new set of good memories for many yearst to come. Whenever you find it - tell us all about it!

Best Wishes,

Rhena

You go girl!!! You hit it right on the nose thats what this fourm is all about.
Encouragement, Love, to add a few more to your list above. Let us not forget that.. We are Survivors of OHS and should keep on going tell our Lord calls us Home!! :)

Norma, saying goodbye is always difficult....whether it's a place, a person or a pet. But remember, God moves in mysterious ways and He may have need of you and your spirit in another locale. Enjoy your memories and look forward to what lies ahead.

Bless you, you're a wonderful lady.

I'm sorry. I know how you feel, having to give up someplace special.

I can't scuba dive anymore because my defibrillator is not depth rated. I was watching Nat. Geo. last night re Bikini Atoll, and really missed being able to dive (though not in nuclear waste, thanks). Even HD TV is just not the same as being there.

Well, Mizz Norma ~~ y'all hook up and come down here along with all the other 'snowbirds' from the cold. We've got lakes, rivers, entertainment and anything else you want..!!

Sounds like a fun place to be Janie! Mucho vino! :)

My husband wants to take a trip to Big Bend Nat'l Park perhaps next year, God willing. Something to look forward to. :)

Mucho vino seguramente..!!

Believe it or not, I've never been to Big Bend but WANT to go..! Maybe we'll meet y'all there next year. Have to be spring or fall ~~ too hot in summer.

We did cruise up Devil's River a ways from Amistad Lake though over Labor Day weekend....small taste of Big Bend, I suppose.

Yes, my husband and I have been talking about maybe going for a visit to
Big Bend. Believe it or not, this native Texan has never seen it! I told my husband, maybe it's time!

Norma,

That is so true. Life is not over, until the Lord calls us, and none of us can know for sure, just when that will be.
