VR.com Gives Santa
CPR
(Christmas Present Rescue)
A poem by Dave Schuppe (fyrfytr)
?Twas two weeks before Christmas
and mighty near freezin?
when we got our first snow of
the holiday season.
For three days and nights it came
tumbling down
and traffic was stuck all over the town.
It sure looked like Christmas
would be a big flop
since everything moving
had ground to a stop.
Merchants all over were flipping
their lids.
while parents at home
consoled sobbing kids.
Santa called to his reindeer, ?Up,
up and away?
but they slid in a snowdrift
and damaged the sleigh.
No hearty ?Ho ho? from Santa in
flight,
but he did mutter ?Darn,?
if I heard him just right.
Then he got an idea
like a bolt from the blue,
?I?ll log on to VR.com
they will know what to do!?
Santa got his laptop and begun
To type
and quick as a wink the responses had begun.
?There?s a public assist? you could
see Hank type. . . .
?We?re responding,? typed Ross
?We?ll do it with hype!?
The members came rushing from
from homes everywhere. . . .
Billy, Janie, Gina, Betty, Bonnie, and Nancy were there,
On, Rain. . . On, Christina . . .
On, Melissa. . . On, Jan and Jean . . . .
all VR.com members
they know what to do.
They arrived at the scene in a cold,
howling storm
And put Santa in the truck( the one we keep looking for the license number)
where it?s all nice and warm.
Then each of the members
took a bag full of gifts
And headed on out,
carefully skirting the drifts.
In no time at all, the gifts
were delivered,
and into the night,
they all continued to shiver.
Back at VR.com, old Santa
was nervous,
Till JimL, Kenny and Paul had
the sleigh back in service.
Santa harnessed the reindeer
and tightened each buckle
and flew toward the North
with the merriest chuckle.
So the children were happy,
and so was St. Nick,
but the VR.com members were
frozen as stiff as a stick.
Yet they sang, ?Holy Night,?
feeling happy and proud
(What they lacked in tonality,
they made up in loud)
Then Santa called back through
the star-studded night.
?Merry Christmas,
VR.com Members
you?re really all right!?
