    Post surgery Depression

Thank you DORNOLE. At my last psychiatrist meeting he suggested increasing my Zoloft dosage from 100 mg to 200 mg if I wasn't feeling better. Not sure that I want to try this just yet. I believe your right in that exercise may be the best medicine right now, and my beloved Abi will be thrilled...

    Post surgery Depression

Hello gang. I'm 8 years into my tissue valve and recently learned that I'm likely headed for a second surgery, possibly within the next 12 months. I have suffered from depression for as long as I can remember. I did notice a decrease in my overall temperament after my surgery and was somewhat...

    2nd surgery valve selection thoughts

Hi Judy and welcome. I have yet to see my cardiologist. I had an echo last week and the technician scared the crap out of me, he said he had to consult with an MD before I left. When he returned he asked about my symptoms, fatigue, shortness of breath, etc. I replied that I felt fine. He...

    2nd surgery valve selection thoughts

Interesting, I've never heard this before. Forgive my ignorance. I was on coumadin for a few months after my surgery with daily INR monitoring. My levels were all over the place, I never was able to stabilize it. Are you saying that one could be have a relatively low INR, lower risk of...

    How concerned should I be?

How concerned should I be? Howdy- Well I apparently had a TIA about 3 weeks ago. Went blind in lower ½ of my field of vision in my right eye for about 2-3 minutes. My INR was low (about 1.7). They hospitalized me to get me on Heparin. I have been therapeutic since then? They did an echo...

    Heart Rate Monitor

Hey Jennifer, I bought the Garmin Forerunner 305. I'm a hiker, runner and walker. This unit has GPS and still uses the chest strap. I've not read many positive reviews of the units without the chest strap. My unit is probably overkill, but I'm anal about knowing what's going on and improving...

Went blind in my left eye for 2-3 minutes!!! WTH?

Well here I lie, still in the hospital. My INR had dropped to 1.7 on Monday got it up to 1.9 as of yesterday evening. The on call cardio seems convinced I had a TIA due to: low INR and that I stopped Aspirin due to gastro bleeding from Crohn's flare up. I'm on Heparin and back on Aspirin (81...

Went blind in my left eye for 2-3 minutes!!! WTH?

I'm in the ER now on the blackberry...EKG looked pretty good, slightly irregular heartbeat. INR was 1.9. They are going to CT scan my head. Oh what a fun way to spend a Thursday night. It took 2 days for the cardio nurse to call back, she was pretty concerned...
