John, since you leave Monday for St. Louis, I thought your surgery thread should be started a little early. We all wish you the very best as you undergo avr and hope that you are blessed with an easy, uncomplicated recovery. I hope your son will be able to update once you are out of surgery.
God bless and Godspeed!

Thanks. I am getting nervous as the time aproaches. All 3 of my children plan to be there. In also have family in the st Louis area that are going to be there. I am hoping for good surgery and a quick recovery. All that believe please pray for me. Thanks john

Hi John, you have my prayers. I am confident you will do well. It's great that your family is going to be there for you -- mine certainly was for me, and they were/are a blessing. Keep the faith -- and keep us posted.

Cheers,

My AVR is the next day so I know very well how nervous you are. I keep on reminding myself that these operations have become routine so you will be OK! All the very best and smooth sailing. Also remember that all the guardian angels and spirits will be out there in force on Tuesday! Johan

You are in my prayers for a successful surgery and an uneventful recovery. I pray also for peace of mind as you wait. In my experience the wait was truly the worst part by far. We'll be waiting for the post after the surgery.

You are certainly in my thoughts and prayers as well as your family. May you have a very successfull surgery and a smooth recovery.

Update us when you can

John,
You mention that your children and family will be there.
I have five children--a daughter and four sons.
They were all at the hospital before I was taken to surgery, but three of the boys spent the time at the gambling boat while they waited for me to come out of surgery.:p:pI thought it was pretty funny . . . practical like their mother . . . and a good story to tell afterwards.
May the time pass quickly for you all.;)

Thanks to all. I plan to take my laptop to St. Louis and show my oldest daughter how to get to this site so she can let folks know how the surgery goes.

Good luck! Everything you've learned here is going to make it so much easier to deal with. It's not going to stop the after surgery pain, but at least you know what to expect. ;)

Have someone update us if possible.

Thanks Ross. Yes being here has helped very much. Still have some fear but I guess that is normal. I am hoping for everything to go well and be headed back home by Sat. But we will just have to wait and see.

John, you will be in my thoughts and prayers. You will do great and I'll be right behind you!
