    Help! I have developed petechiae!

I have had petechiae and they certainly were not purple bumps or any other colour bumps, they were tiny and red flat spots. Mind you with an INR of 8.9 at the time it would be surprising if I didn't have something visible.

    Question about Post-Surgery Rehab

I was glad to go to Rehab, it gave me the motivation I wouldn't have had if I tried to do it alone. I started about six weeks after surgery.

Typical For Surgeon To Call Night Before

I was admitted the day before surgery and the surgeon then the anaesthetist came to visit me the evening before surgery. In fact it was during that evening visit that the surgeon asked me what sort of valve I wanted, tissue or mechanical. :)

    Flipping sore throat

My little grandson gave me a cold and sore throat last week, my throat started hurting on Tuesday. I have been watching my temperature to be sure that it wasn't swine flu, and it is not, no aches and pains either. However my throat has become more painful, not less so, as time progresses so I...

    Swine flu H1N1...

You will be probably be considered as 'high risk' when it comes to any flu. The complications, such as secondary infections, can be a problem as they are likely to be bacterial. My GP insists on me having the flu *** each year and I had to have the pneumonia *** too, that is a one off though...

Channel 4 uk open heart surgery questions feedback

I can only speak for myself but if offered the full 'crack open the ribcage' or the minimal approach I would ask for the full opening. I want the surgeon to have the very best access with the minimum amount of difficulty. If it is easier for him/her to have a wide area in which to work then...

    Oh Goodie

Your doctor is crazy. What does she do with patients like me with a range of 3.0 to 4.0? Would she expecting me to bleed all over the place? My all time high was 8.9 almost 4 years ago and apart from some little red spots on my arms and upper chest I had no ill effects at all and am still...
