Yearly echo--AV regurg. increased to mod./severe

Mr. P--Thanks for all your input, past, present and future. I know you've "been there," and it has been extremely helpful to hear from you. I guess my biggest concern now comes from being told by one of our cardios that the LV dimensions tend to grow at a faster rate when you move more into...

Yearly echo--AV regurg. increased to mod./severe

Hi everyone, Nervous Mom here... Matt's yearly echo was last week and the results were a mixed bag. The good news--his heart dimensions, including asc. aorta, have remained relatively stable from the last echo. Excellent. The cardio credits Lisinopril. The not-so-good news--the aortic...

    Kido with bicusp aortic valve

Our son had urinary tract surgery a couple of years after we found out about the BAV and associate conditions. He cruised through it with no problem whatsoever, under general anesthesia for about 40 min. None of the drs. seemed too concerned with the BAV. (They did give less IV fluid than they...

    Kido with bicusp aortic valve

What a sweet looking little girl! I just wanted to add my congratulations on the successful procedure. Your logic sounds good to me about a possible repeat. What does your doctor say about it? The technology for solving valve problems seems to be coming on faster as time passes. Let us hope...

    First Post- dilated aorta

Welcome! A bit of information that we found to be true--CT's and MRA's, in addition to being more accurate, tend to show slightly smaller numbers than routine echos... Add our wishes to everyone else's--may your dilated aorta remain stable for many years to come!

    Valves great.....new aneurysm !!!!!

So sorry to read this... I've followed your posts since I first arrived on this site a couple of years ago, with a probable Ross procedure in the cards for my son. Here's hoping that a surgery, if/when needed, will go smoothly and be the last one you ever have to think about.

    aortic aneurysm

Hi--My dad had a dissecting AAA at the age of 82. He had emergency surgery at the local hospital with a general surgeon and came through with flying colors. Because of his age, and because he had always been sensitive to many medications, he had a little trouble with the pain meds afterwards...
