    DIZZYNESS and Light Headedness

I have Dizzy/Lightheaded, mostly if I get up fast. Seemed to start when I started my BP Meds, I take Metoprolol now. I think because it lowers me BP and heart rate it effects my balance. The biggest thing I have noticed since surgery is memory loss, but that could also be age.. :)

    Tissue versus Mechanical

I had to get a tissue valve (Pig Valve) do to it being the tricuspid valve. I would have chosen tissue anyhow because I didn't want to be on anticoagulants and riding a motorcycle. I hope too that they make enough advances in technology so that it is a much easier procedure the next time I need...

    Pop or don't Pop?

I usually wait until it dries out underneath (inside scab) then I pop it open, just to make it go away quicker. I am not on anticoagulants though either.

    Can anyone relate?

It was the same for me also, I never took anything, even for headaches or colds. I am lucky now I am down to just two Metoprolol a day. :)

    Endocarditis and Mitral Valve Replacement

I am also 47. I had Endocarditis back in 2007, it took a few weeks to diagnose. They thought it was the flu. I ended up with sepsis, lost my kidney functions for a few weeks and had to go on dialysis, I was in the hospital 34 days. They found out my tricuspid valve was bad and after 5 weeks of...

Should I call the Dr. about this?

If I remember mine from a year ago, it did take a little bit to completely scab over, as long as the drainage is clear and it doesn't smell. I can't remember exactly how long it took but I remember it seemed longer than I thought it would. Once I started taken the band aid off it dried up quicker.

I get weird rhythms as well, mostly when I am resting or not moving. Never notice anything when I am working or exercising. It seem to only appear once the heart slows.

    Not Depressed but . .

I think there is quite a bit of ups and downs. The more you get back to what you used to do the better it will get. It will get better, I am 6 weeks post op, back to work and riding the motorcycle. I still have days that I feel different then I used to, not really sad but you wonder what it...

Does anyone stay up late at night?

Since I had my surgery I have a harder time sleeping unless I go to bed late. I am going back to work next week so I am going to have to find a way to fall asleep earlier or go back to drinking coffee. :)
