"W" is what the channel is titled
On my "box" I can search for a program by typing the title in....which I did. It also shows me the date, time(s) it comes on and of course the channel. It only came on once last night at 11 on this "W" channel.

I misssed the show!!! I could'nt bealive it!! I went to great effort to see it, and it was'nt on when it was suposse to be. We don't have cable so we all went to a friends house to watch, I checked and double checked that it would be on at 10:00p.m. we sit down to watch and the golden girls were on  I was not happy, my daughter really wanted to see if she made it onto the show since we went to the fashion show part of the show. I'm going to check on-line and see when it's on again. Debbie :)

Debbie, Freddie and Aussigal,
You should be able to find the show on the internet and play it through your computer. The timing of the show must have something to do with which provider you use. I have DISH and am on the West Coast.....I saw the show at 7:00 pm PT. But my co-worker has cable.....she said she went to watch it at 7:00 pm but some other show came on instead. I'll bet it played at 10:00 pm on cable.

Great to put the information about ACHA at the end, with Heather wearing that very flattering dress with the sweetheart neckline.

I liked the sweetheart neckline too. That was soo Good information about ACHA.

I agree. As a fellow ACHD'er and member of ACHA, I was proud of Heather. I thought she did a really great job! I thought it was very inspirational and a Fantastic show!

Most didn't even notice the scars until it was pointed out to them.

I think intellectually I know that but it's easier said than done emotionally.

I had never really had to deal too much with the scar from my first OHS because the scar is horizontal across my chest and as I developed, most of it wound up being under my breasts. The only thing I ever had to worry about were bathing suits. The middle of the scar would show if the bathing suit was very low-cut so I have always been careful to get ones that weren't too low-cut where my scar would show.

Then about 4 years ago my dr told me I would have to have surgery again. One of the 1st things he said to me was "of-course you know there will be a scar." I told him that I didn't care about that.....I was more worried about my current health and survivng the surgery. But then when it was all said and done, I was VERY UPSET with having that scar on my chest!! I have since learned to let the scar show and I don't even think about it anymore....but it wasn't easy getting to that point.

Interestingly, just a couple of weeks ago, I was trying on bathing suits in the store and I tossed several out because the scar from my 1st OHS showed! I guess I still have more work to do!

For many people, scars from OHS may be reminders of their mortality. (This was mentioned during the show last night.) Not so with scars from hysterectomies, gall bladder surgeries, bunionectomies, many other procedures.

If they're lucky, women can use the sternotomy scar to appear to be "cleavage."

I'm waiting for the first OHS veteran who becomes Miss America or Miss France or Miss Canada or whatever. Would love to see that swimsuit competition! :):)

Dear Catwomen, I really like your point that that scar reminds us of our mortality, I haven't really thought about that, but it is very true. I don't have a problem with my scar, but I do have alot of mixed emotions about not having a healthy heart. We all here don't have "normal" hearts but we need to try to do the best we can with the cards we've been dealt.
I'm still trying to see the show on the Web.
Debbie :)

I'm still trying to see the show on the Web.

On Lifetime's website, click on the picture of Carson in the "Top Shows" section located on the left side of the screen. Then in the center right portion of the screen, click on "Watch Now - Watch Full Episodes".

The show is broken down into parts (the breaks are where commercials were on TV) so you want to be sure to watch them in sequence.

Thanks Diane, well I finally figured it out. It was great to be able to watch the show! I got to meet Heather at the show and get my picture with her, she is a great person. I got to meet her mom and cardio too and I enjoyed the whole show. If anyone missed the show and wants to see it go on Lifetime on the Web and you can see it.
Debbie :)

The personal aspect of the show was very moving and I'm was glad for her that her perspective of her body could be changed in a seemingly short amount of time.

I do, however, think that the show could have accomplished just as much as "How to look good in a teensy, weensy, itsy, bitsy, yellow polka dot bikini". I was very disappointed with the nude (or at least topless - I did ffwd through that segment) in front of strangers with cameras photo shoot. Yikes! I was watching it with my 17yo daughter -- I thought it would be good for her to see how our perception of our bodies is very different from what other perceive, but the message that "if you are comfortable with your body you will pose naked" is wrong! There is and should continue to be such a thing as modesty.
