I went back to the cardio today for my first INR and a EKG. Turns out my EKG was what he was looking for - so he took me off Coumadin! Could this be the shortest Coumadin therapy yet? (2 days).

He was well aware of how I felt about it. It's funny, he walked in and said "How about we take you off that rat poison?" and smiled.

I will stay on Cardizem a few weeks and we will see from there.

Congrats I'm so happy for you.:D :D :D

And for real, I'm glad you're able to get off - must be doing really well.

Hmmmm?

Hmmmm?

Coumdin = rat poison
There for - it is proven that those of us taking it must not be rats because we are still here!
Hypothesizing - Those not wanting to take it have a hidden history of being rats???

Ah, just having some fun wicha.:D

Congratulations! I'm happy your original desire wasn't hampered for too long. Keep that sunshine attitude going, it gives us a boost!

Hey Kenny

Hey Kenny

Congrats!! :D :D

I was on Coumadin for 21 years so it was quite a relief to go off of it. Isn't it nice to not have to worry about Vit K, and eveything else that affects an INR? I certainly don't miss it! :D :D

I'm jealous, but congratulations! My cardiologist is very wary of things and I have a feeling I will be on Coumadin for several months, until/if I have no more bouts of atrial fibrillation and he feels it is safe to be off of it.

You lucky!

And Gisele! Welcome back - I have been wondering how you are doing! You sound thrilled to not be on the Coumadin now. How are you feeling? God bless you with a speedy recovery. You deserve it!
