After all the weeping and wailing I did in 2016, I turned it around and did fairly well in 2017. I had 3 MDs and 2 PTs tell me I'd never run again due to spinal arthritis, so I walk instead, and bike and swim (and maybe sneak in the occasional short run). In one 5K I ran mi 1, walked mi 2, and ran mi 3. It felt good. In all, I was able to do 10 races this year, including my new favorite, the beer mile. Plus, one new event, I tried my first short triathlon and loved it.
In total, I did 540 miles walking, 250 miles biking and 125 miles swimming. Oh, and it's a bit embarrassing, but I slacked off a bit on the pushups, only 14,600 for the whole year. I turn 70 in a few weeks, so have a new incentive to do even better.
