I just finished sweating out the last of my 55 minutes on the erg today- and we're at #63. I'll be happy to stay in the top 100 all season, but Hugh and I are going to need some help from Melissa and Ar bee (when he recovers). Mary, are you still thinking about taking up indoor rowing?

55 minutes?? YOU GO!!

This is good stuff. 35 minutes tonight at an average HR of 136; max 145. I think I'll go for increasing time rather than intensity. If I do this long enough (and STOP EATING ALL THE CHOCOLATE) I'll start running again, too.

Hugh-

In the interests of full disclosure, my 55 minutes was broken into two sessions - 35 mins and 20 mins. My longest single session was a 1/2 marathon (41097 meters) which took me 1:45. I'm trying to do around 10-12000 meters a day right now to work my way up to a marathon effort: perhaps coinciding with me reaching my 2nd million meters.

I've now rowed well over 1,000 MILES - putting me somewhere in Utah, I think, in the hypothetical cross-country row. Maybe I should go the other direction, over open water, but there are far fewer mile posts out there to relate the distance to.

A little chocolate is OK- but I try to limit it because I feel guilty if I don't do an extra 5000 meters to burn it off.
