Hi, all--
Thanks so much for your thoughts and prayers. You are all so wonderful!
My mother came home from the hospital today after being held because her blood sugar was in the 400s-500s. It's now down to 230 at last check, but she is comfortable and resting. I've been helping out at home so she doesn't feel she has to do so much.
Now, for the news...
The CAT Scan revealed cancerous cells on her pancreas.
Mom has a consultation with a cancer specialist on Monday, and her surgery (still unscheduled) will be at USC University Hospital, where I had my valve repair. I'm glad that the doctor will be taking care of scheduling her surgery, because when I had to deal with the office there to schedule mine, I was about to have a fit as my chart got lost for a few days, and some of the office staff weren't very cooperative.
I'm trying to stay positive, and my mom is in good spirits. All she could say when she got home was, "I'm glad they found this early, and if I never had the problem with my bile duct, they never would have found the cancer cells." Blessing in disguise?
I just hope everything turns out well.
Thanks again for your prayers...
