all y'all Texans take very good care. You've been hit hard before so you know what to do.

Janie, I can still picture you standing on your private little storm created island those long years ago - wanting smokes - and no way to get off your 'island' to get them! You won't have to worry about that particular problem anymore, no matter what your predicament.

Cousin in HOuston is sittin by TV taking it all in and getting ready just in case, but she's north of the expected hit and you are inland so maybe you will get only some fast winds and rains.

Dallas is gearing up. Sister lives there.

Praying for you.

Thanks everyone -- yep, I'm watching the weather channel judiciously. Now they're saying she's gonna land 'round Corpus...whoa..!

Latest projection, it is expected to turn north and hit between Corpus and Palacios. Janie, are you near Victoria or the Hill Country?
We're in beautiful New Braunfels which lies between Austin and San Antonio - the best of both worlds..:D However Lisa; my cousin lives in Victoria and she'll be here this weekend for the "Hurricane Party"..!

They are saying that Austin may get 60 mph straight line winds. This one looks like the real thing and pretty scary.
Whoa again -- we're south of Austin so it'll hit us first. Probably loads of rain and we do have Canyon Lake nearby which feeds the Guadalupe River which does flood - but we're on a hill..:D Where are you Louise??

Hoboy was that a long time ago - Hurricane Beulah in 1967 which dumped 24 inches of rain and marooned us for 3 weeks and 7 miles down a dirt road to the ranchhouse.. What a memory Ann...yes, I needed smokes.. Haven't needed one since 11-08-1980 though..:D...outside of a super dumb lapse of two years some years ago.. WON'T DO THAT ONE AGAIN..!!
